Absolute must have for every aquarium - show quality super clear water. amazing. shocking results.
this stuff is amazing. hands down, the best filter media. originally i was torn between the 100 micron and the 50 micron...i decided on the 100. and i'm so glad! my tank is CRYSTAL CLEAR! just look at the side view from my photos. i love that this just comes in as a giant piece of fabric. i just made a template and cut it....it will last many many moons. i'm using it in a fluval spec V. originally i wanted to go with the original filter media by this company...the stuff they say to use with this filter felt to get the best result. i still may buy that...but really, i'll probably just use a little polyfill. i was using poly fill originally and it worked okay....it did not work like this. i expect to have to change this every week, maybe two weeks. it's been just three days and it is already turning colors...i probably wont attempt to rinse and reuse....i want to stay as close to this crystal clear water as possible. super impressed. i do think i have a little reduced flow rate from my pump because of this. i will most likely turn up the pump in my spec V. just haven't done that yet because i have a betta. i am also contemplating getting the 50 micron. we'll see. for now i am perfectly content with this. it is definitely more expensive than polyfill. but the result is incredible. and this product is going to last a long time...so glad i bought this. i mean, i honestly can not believe how sparkling clear my water is. this is the water quality i have longed for. before i thought i was just incapable of achieving perfectly clear water like so many people do. but now i am a fish keeping pro.Update: So i get about 1 week of usage out of these pads. but that is without having any additional mechanical filtration in front of the this pad...i am calling it filter felt. which i believe is another term for it. i am using this in a Fluval Spec V....it works amazing well in a fluval spec...just cut to size and placed in the rectangle filter block on top of the sponge. i cut it 1/2 inch longer and that works nicely. it's a snug fit so no water bypasses the filter felt. i was already anticipating having to change the filter felt pad today or tomorrow....when i got home today i noticed that closed off section that houses the pump for the Spec V had gone way done....about 4-5 inches from the display part of the tanks waterline. that to me is indication to change it....put in a new piece of filter felt pad and the water level immediately went back up. so yes, the longer these pads stay in the filter and accumulate more gunk, the harder it is on your water flow. i have raised the flow rate of the pump all the way up, full blast....this used to be a problem because i have a betta. however, with the filter felt pad and the pump on high it does not bother my betta.my tank remains crystal clear. everyone that comes over comments and says they have never seen a home aquarium as clear as mine....i truly do feel like a fish keeping pro with this filter felt. for me, it was the missing link in my filter. please, if you're on this fence about this product just buy it and see for yourself. you will be amazed.i am not affiliated with this company. i have never spoken to them. this review is 100% my experience of this product. i truly believe in this product.

I had a problem with the finer pad, it left particles floating in my water and tiny little pieces of plastic I found when vacuuming and the particles stuck to my fish. I called the company and they said it could be from my fluval fx4 shutting off and on, disturbing what's sticking to the hoses. Which made sense because I use it on my eheim 350 and didn't have a problem. They recommend that I buy this pad to see if it clears up. I tried it but it didn't make my fish or water any better. Sadly, I ended up loosing all 28 of my fancy goldfish. I'm now in the process of breaking everything down, cleaning it up and starting the tank over. Buying in bulk is cheaper but price didn't matter if I knew certain pads weren't good on a fluval fx4. 😥😥😥

Great Filter Pad
Used this as a prefilter on HOB's intake. Very easy to cut and zip tie on. Removed lots of debris coming from my driftwood so my cartridges lasted MUCH longer. After using for a month (replacing it once or twice weekly) the new sections of pad started shedding small pieces of plastic into my tank that my cartridge couldn't catch. Could be lethal to my fish (as another reviewer can attest.) And yes I rinsed well first. Too bad, worked great until then.Update 5/24/20: Changed review to 5 stars after discovering my user error. I was placing it on my intake with the harder side out. The water has to flow through the soft side first as is clearly explained by instructions.

Dear Amazon Friends.I been looking at cheap effective ways to get my fish pond clear . I watched alot of youtube about filters. And DIY filter. When i heard one guy speak of a" polishing pad" i went on amazon and ordered it . I went to the dollar store bought 4 bags of white stones and a collender.. I rinsed the stone. Rinsed the polishing pad as directed. Very important to follow the directions for this pad..I then placed a pad on the bottom of the collender( spagetti strainer) . .added my stone. .added a pad on top. Gritty side down. . . Stuck my pump hose in the rocks ..so it flowed over on other rocks to create a waterfall affect..Over night See pics above.. Thats the pollen that was in my pond. I tried everything to get that dan pollen out. Because its so fine .. Nothing would grab those pollen particals.. Then these...These pads grab even the finest particles and hold them there.. Hard water pressure cleaned these pads to almost new.. It was slightly stained but who cares.. I put them back to work. Within 4 hours my pads were filthy again.. Im so pleased. And i think im just gonna keep doing what im doing. My pond is about 70 gallons. .. With 4 goldfish... So not very big...If you have nasty anything in your pond. These pads are a must. You wont be dissapointed. You can cut them to your the size you need. Anybody that gave these a bad review must have done something wrong. These pads will grab anything small. From coffee grains..to table salt grain down to fine powdery pollen... This is also great for inside acquarims as well.. Just cut to adjust to the size you need...Tie it around filter...If i could give 10 stars i would. I seen youtube videos where this pad is wrapped around the filter for bigger ponds.also.... And works just as i have stated.. My reviews are my own personal experience. If this has helped you in anyway..please click below to let me and Amazon know.... Thanks and good luck with you pond or Acquarium..UpDate.. Its been 2 months . these pads are still in great shape. Are still working and i couldnt be happier with them

BUY IT. It works really well.
I added one layer of this to a gutted Penguin drop in filter frame with four layers of batting in front of it. It has cleared up my water since putting it in 12 hours ago. There feels like there is a thin rubbery layer on one side of the filter pad. I assume it's to keep all the fibers from fraying or slowing the filter cloth from sliding around. Either way, this filter cloth appears to be EXTREMELY high quality. The seller emailed me a day before I received the product just to remind me to rinse the filter cloth several times before putting it in the aquarium. Very good customer care. Thanks! I will buy again when I run out.
