Hello, for use in showers we recommend using our Tile Grout Sealant product (code B08DD2LHY5 in the amazon search engine), which is specially formulated for this. Once applied, it should be allowed to dry for 24 hours, ensuring that it is completely dry to the touch. After 24 hours, it can get wet without problems.

Q: What is the right way to remove the excess? I have tried a slightly wet cloth but I either remove the grout or push some of the excess onto the grout.

Wipe the cloth along the line of the grout and yes don’t make it too wet or you will dissolve the grout. Don’t worry about pushing more grout into the space where it should be, it will settle. I was very pleased with this product but I do have to stress, you need to thoroughly clean the tiles etc before you apply. Good luck.
