Good Night, Baboon!: A Bedtime Counting Book (Hello!Lucky)

This book is great to help your little one learn to count. But I agree with the other posts about a few things I wish weren’t in here like the little monkey brushing his bum with a toothbrush and burping. We love all of the Moyle sister books and this one has such pretty colorful pictures like the rest.

GOOD NIGHT, BABOON! is a cute and colorful countdown book of animals getting ready for bed- all except one! The book counts down from 10 to 1, using different animals on each page- except the one baby baboon who is refusing to get ready for bed. The story ends with the baby baboon settling down for one big hug.What I loved: The illustrations are super-bright and colorful with plenty of fun animals to count. Toddlers will get a kick out of counting the animals and the funny things the baby baboon is doing. The text is also rhyming and easy for parents to read, which adds some extra fun to the story.What left me wanting more: As a very small point, baby baboon has some bad habits (such as brushing his bum with a toothbrush when the dapper dinos are brushing their gums) that would not be great for children who like to mimic.Final verdict: Colorful and full of rhyming fun, GOOD NIGHT, BABOON! is a silly book that encourages counting. While the other animals get ready for bed, one baby baboon is determined to stay up! Baby baboon burps during snack time, brushes his bum instead of his teeth, plays loud lullabies on electric guitar, and runs around causing mayhem, until finally baby baboon is ready for a goodnight hug.I love how this book is designed as a counting book, and we count down each animal group getting ready for bed. 9 skunks take a bath, 8 hamsters have a bedtime snack, 7 sloths put on their PJs, etc... and through it all, baby baboon is getting into trouble!The whole book is hilarious and sweet! Baby baboon manages to bounce across each page, getting into shenanigans before bed and monkeying around. I love how irreverent and silly this book is!The illustrations are bright and colorful with a fun cartoony style. This book is so animated and entertaining...even for a 3 month old! Highly recommended.

This company does the cutest books! Such beautiful and engaging illustrations and fun rhymes. My little one loves anything by Hello Lucky
