Really nice model
Really accurate model. Some slight issues with the instructions. Despite saying snap fit you will require some gluing. More advice with the decals would have been useful for beginners. All in all, as a noob (this is only my second model) it turned out remarkably well. There are a few things I would do differently but the end result was so impressive that I'm going to buy another one and try again!

Get it done , were Starfleet
I really like this reimagined Enterprise , its put together really well and with the addition of the lighting kit and aztec decals it really stands out ,Its a bit fiddly in some parts and the nacelles and lights are a bit awkward , but once built and lit she looks absolutely gorgeous,Take your time and enjoy the build !!

A nice model of the reimagined USS Enterprise - But why no Aztec Decals in the box??!
Regardless of peoples reaction to the show, this is a beautiful upgrade to the appearance of the original TOS enterprise, and the kit itself is lovely. Its super easy to put together, so long as you are familiar with using glue and (maybe) a little filler when building scale model kits. This is not to say that this kit doesn't have its issues, however.Primarily, the problems with this kit stem entrely from what is included in the box, and the fact that we are currently getting price gouged due to a lack of general availability. In the US, where this kit is manufactured, it is soooo much cheaper, to the point where I would say its downright reasonable. When I buy a kit, especially for more than £50 and these are going for anywhere up to about £70 in the UK at the moment, I expect to be able to build it as it appears on the box, within the bounds of my level of skill, with the addition of paint, glue and time (and maybe some other modelling tools). Now whilst I can forgive Polar Lights for having illuminated kits on the box, where they are specifically advertising the (~£110 in the UK if you can find one and deeply flawed in its own right) lighting kit they sell for this model, what I can't get my head around is the fact that they don't actually include all the decals to present the ship as depicted. As anyone who has built a Star Trek model kit before will know, Federation ships have (since the 70's) had a pattern on the hull, known as the 'Aztec' pattern. In the past models have either shipped with decals to represent this pattern, or have had (wildly inaccurate) attempts made to engrave the pattern directly onto the surface of the model, or in some cases even coming with paint mask templates for you to photocopy and cut for airbrushing it on yourself. You don't have to use them, and you'll produce a nice model even if you don't, but if you want it to look closer to what you see on screen then some attempt has to be made to incorporate them. Polar Lights *do* make a set of hull aztec decals for this kit, but have chosen to not include them in the box. Instead you must source them separately and at quite the expense - I picked mine up for about ~£30, and this seems to be a 'good' price for them here in the UK. Now in the US, where the kit is about 45 bucks, and the decals are about 20, this seems reasonable - I can even sort see the logic in the decision to not spend all that money making decals for every kit especially when not everyone wants to use them and you can buy alternatives, but its still a cheap tactic on the part of Polar Lights and with the prices we are being charged it just gets silly. When combined with the price of the model kit itself, along with shipping (as this kit is a new kit and still pretty tricky to get hold of, so Amazon Prime doesn't cover it) it's well over £100 - this means you could have picked up the enormous 1/350 Enterprise Refit kit for less! Granted that kit also doesn't come with aztec decals, but is large enough for you to be able to paint the pattern yourself - see my comment about photocopying and cutting paint masks.Despite my rant (because I really think in a kit of this scale and price point those decals should be in the box), it is still a great kit. I have already made one unlit, and have bought a second now so I can do a custom lighting and paint job (Aztek Dummy makes some lovely pre-cut paint mask sets), and they are super nice to put together - especially the warp nacelle pylons which in the past have been a source of some problems getting them properly aligned and not drooping, but there are none of those problems here. It is a lovely model, and if you want to have the latest on screen iteration of the 1701 Enterprise in your collection, this is a great way to go, its much more impressive and detailed than its 1/2500 version. Just make sure you order those aztec decals or masks while your at it to avoid disappointment!

Large, expensive and needs extra decals.
Like Discovery, this is much larger than the other Star Trek 1/1000 model kits. It appears to be accurate, but only includes the registration decals and not the aztec, which is disappointing. By the time I would have bought the decals and lighting kit, it would become a very expensive kit. As I've opened the box, I don't think I can return it, so I'll probably sell it on ebay.

Absolut empfehlenswert.

Worth getting, even if you’re not a fan
The media could not be loaded. Came in great conditionAS A NOTE!!!!This does NOT come with lights to install! You must purchase those and the Aztec decals separately (unfortunately).Pretty solid build, and looks amazing if you put the effort into it. I sightless modified mine with some extra lights, but I also used the light kit that you can get separately. This kit was made to be lit since it has groves inside and tabs big enough for wires and lights to fit in.Would definitely recommend for casual and serious fans.I made a review for it in GreyWolfFX along with the light kit.

Perfect model kit
Everything fits together nicely, abundance of clear pieces for lighting. If you buy this kit, it might be smart to also purchase the Aztec decals for maximum accuracy.
