Update: It broke a month after I brought it and won’t light at all anymore.——Honestly this device is super frustrating and it only lights half the time. It has full charge right now and if I slide to turn the device on, it wouldn’t work on the first try. I have to repeatedly do the motion over and over again and it will eventually light up. I’m surprised there are so many positive reviews for this item, not sure if those are paid for.Also- the “safety feature” on this is a joke. You can still turn it on without holding down the button. Would not recommend if you have a kid.

Lighter came with a partial charge that lasted awhile out of the box. Recharge time was relatively brief and still using weeks later w/ common, but not frequent use. The design is a little clunky, as the igniter is higher on the wand...so with deep candle wells, it can still be a challenge to fit your hand. The arc is powerful and performs pretty well on candle wicks and things of the sort, but lighting other things, such as cigarettes, is a pain. One pet peeve, when ignited, the arc makes an annoying electrical frequency that is unpleasant to the ears during the duration of use. All-in-all, it works pretty well.

Our family goes through disposable lighters quickly. Largely because we use lots of candles as well as our fireplace and outdoor fire pit. A good friend told me he saved lots of money once he bought one of these plasma lighters and it is just as easy to use as the disposable one. I have not yet had to charge mine but it has lit dozens of candles over this holiday season and my two daughters love theirs as well. My youngest will be back in Scotland for vet school in January and she is very excited to try this on the many candles she and her roommate have in their flat.

I bought this candle lighter to make it safer to light candles and also so I don't have to remember to buy matches. It is an overall good purchase. It lights the candles very well and I get a really nice, even burn. The rose gold looks amazing when I have it out on my bedside table and the battery lasts a really long time, considering I don't use it very often (I have had it for maybe a year already and I have only charged it twice). Honestly, the only "fault" is that the actual part that ignites the candles is made with plastic so I was a bit concerned by that (but it's fine. I have had no issues whatsoever) but everything besides that is great.

Worked fine for the first 3 months and all of a sudden it didn’t hold a charge. When it would work, it would activate without the safety. So as soon as you touch the slider, the spark was already on inside the device which is not safe. Contacted the seller for a warranty as stated for 1 year but no response after a week. Stay away from this cheap junk.

This is a very impressive little device. I wanted to steer clear of matches since I had one snap in half and burn my carpet a few weeks ago. Enter this little guy! It's streamlined and good-looking. You do have to hit the safety at the same time as the switch in order for it to turn on, much like a normal lighter. The fact that it's rechargeable makes it that much better. My friends and family are blown away with curiosity--not many people are used to a device like this!

Having a rechargeable lighter is great. I bought this a few months ago, charged it to capacity, and still haven’t needed to plug it back in after using it almost daily. I like that it has safety functions similar to a fuel lighter, but the switches(?)/buttons(?) are too close to the lighting end to use in taller jar candles after they’re about half burned. You’d need to stick your hand inside the jar itself in order to reach and light the wick. I’d definitely give more stars if the igniter switches were more toward the back end.

I don’t know what happened to it, but it stopped working after a month. It stopped taking a charge. When I did charge it, I only left it plugged in until all the dots lit up, as recommended. I had to throw it away.Otherwise, it’s a pretty cool concept. My kids hated the high pitch noise it made, though (I guess their young ears are more sensitive)

NO LO COMPREN, NO SIRVE, nunca logro generar chispa, venía con batería pero por más que intenté hacer que funcionara no lo logré, el cable para cargar queda flojo de la entrada, había que acomodarlo para que si cargara, al siguiente día de que llegó y lo recibí de plano la batería ya no funcionaba, un fraude de producto, también es incómodo de usar, tiene un botón de seguridad el cual debes presionar al mismo tiempo que deslizas otro botón para generar la chispa, LO ODIE totalmente, estaba tan emocionada porque llegara y ya no tener que comprar cerillos convencionales, pero con lo que gasté en este producto pude haber comprado cerillos para más de dos años. NO MERECE NI UNA SOLA ESTRELLA, pero no hay esa opción.

For the price, this lighter is fairly well-constructed. There is a safety function to lighting it, meaning I wouldn't worry around children, for the most part. My only concern is that the rod is a bit thick for some candles, especially when you get right down in there. However, unlike Bic's or Zippo's, this lighter can get in and light a small wick, even if it's a bit tricky: so for the price, I'd say it's pretty good.
