Covers my ears, breaks the wind, keeps head warm.
This is a classic wind breaking warm hat. I have several of these, they work well (I wash them after exercising with them, so I need a few). I walk to work and back each day (four miles). I live in the northern latitudes of the continental US (only a little over a hundred miles to the Canadian border) and it gets cold outside in the winter. Walking with this hat on always works well. It does block some sound, so it sometimes makes it a bit harder to hear others who are talking to you, but it is well worth the tradeoff to have the blowing wind blocked from my ears and head.

Windproof Dome
The dome perignon are my favorite hats. I’ve had many colors over the years. The fit is tight & does tend to ride up your ears sometimes. The pro is the regular hat minus the fleece covering. The pro is not as warm as the regular hat. It does offer a more sleek fit for under helmets. The pro seems more rain resistant, too.

Keeps my head warm
I prefer the old version. This is literally a skull cap meant to fit under a helmet. Does keep my head warm though.

Too small
The hat is very well constructed, however it fits like a child’s hat not an adult hat. Very small.

pills easily
I have 2 , one is from 13yrs back , other just this last yr , expensive by far for a little beanie ! the fact that the felt pilled so easily is dissapointing & kind of a fail , especially that this is supposedly an xtra premium touted product...ear flaps built in just barely cover most of the ear for a large skull in size xtra large..that said , I use these right under the bike helmet , water & wind have no chance , keeps the crown of my head comfy right in a driving rain ( pacific nw ) like to trade back to mountain hardware when they upgrade from the fabric pilling..it's their warranty

Fits like a glove
I bought a second Pro Benie because I loved the first one so much. The fit and construction are top notch. Nice mid-weight material, lighter than their standard Dome Perignon.

Very disappointed
I'm a big fan of Mountain Hardware stuff 99% of the time. In fact, this is the only time I can think of when they fundamentally let me down.I bought these hats to replace some of the same model that I have been wearing in Michigan winters for about 20 years now that are just beginning to show their age (a real tribute to Mountain Hardware quality!). However, the new hats were not nearly as warm, and as a bald guy that really matters a whole lot! Further, my old hats are XLs, so I ordered XLs (the largest size available), but the new ones were definitely too small. So, I'll happily wear my old hats until they finally fall apart.

Not for cold weather
I used a friend's Mountain Hardwear Dome Perignone and wanted to have one of my own. This PRO version is actually made with a clothe top above the earband area. It seems to be more of a helmet liner since the cloth does not really keep the cold out. I returned mine and went back to my trusty knitted watch cap

Toque looks great and the sizing chart was right on. Fast shipping too. Good seller, would buy again.
