Dear Girl

I bought this book for my teenage daughter, sight unseen. I began reading it before passing it along, by page 10, I stopped, grabbed a highlighter, and started over again. I saw her so often reflected in the words and I had to mark them so that when she reads it, she sees herself through my eyes and through this young author's words. I highlighted the things that I hope for her ("I hope your path leads you...") and words that I want from her ("show up").I cannot express the strength in this book. The passion. The call for sisterhood..."like a sledgehammer to the glass ceiling."

Aija has such a wonderful voice in these times. And no matter what age you are, uplifting and soul deep poems are always a good way to pamper yourself.Loved her on Instagram since years and now having an actual book in front of us is just perfect.If you are looking for a gift to a girl or womxn this is a perfect option!

this book may have changed me a little... it makes me remember that i dont have to be as small as I can be just to make a man feel comfortable ...queens, cheer for other queens.. dont put anyone down.. man ,woman, straight or not, color or white..

Definitely a book to share with young teens! I had a lot of flashbacks as a teen while reading this book!

Love this book. I’m not really into poetry but I finish this book without noticing I was done. Recommend to women who feel like the alone and their journe.

There is more blank paper in this book than there are words. And the words are pretty bang average. This book is a let down.

Where is the rest of the book, this should have been half the price since I received half of a book. This is more like a leaflet. The content was OK, not great. I was expecting some heart wrenching, inspirational stuff. I am very disappointed

My copy of Dear Girl arrived this morning and when I finished work I opened it, Planning to flick through and before I knew it I was reading aloud, shouting these words through my tears. Still crying and still strong. This is a beautiful piece of art that I’ll be buying for everyone I love x.
