for one of the cheapest sawzalls around, it will do everything, even heavy duty for short bursts
I purposely bought a low priced one because I won't use it a lot. It will, for short burts and with the absolute best carbide blade available take on heavy duty tasks but I wouldn't recommend it if your tasks are mainly going to be heavy and often. This is really well suited to someone who doesn't need it very often but needs it when they do have a need such as a tree root (to get anywhere very fast here you must use heavy duty carbide blades for clean wood, not the ones for demolition) and can't go very long at a time because factory battery gets too hot. Bought after market longer life 6.0 amp battery and it goes much longer. For routine tasks this is a great tool and feels well balanced and maneuverable. The movable shoe is a feature many more expensive ones lack and changing blades is not only toolless but also super quick. For light duty use I don't see how you could beat this one price-wise or value-wise, especially if you already have a B & D drill or impact driver because the batteries are interchangeable and you can save nearly $30 just buying the sawzall tool itself. For simple tree trimming and other non-heavy duty uses, it works fabulous and as stated will do heavy duty for short time but you can smell the oil heating up after several minutes of heavy duty (very hard tree roots very thick) so if you do that or something similar you simply should pay more up front and get heavier duty like Milwaukee. For the price though, this can't be beat really. Very satisfied overall. Also, as said weight is good, maneuverability is fabulous and changing blades is a cinch. All standard blades work but the carbide Diablo blade designed for clean wood, not demolition, blew away the competition totally on the tree roots and made all the bi-metal blades I had tried before seem like toys and a waste of time which they were. You really need to choosy about blades here because this isn't a tool where you can just take longer with the wrong blade. If you do, you're likely to overheat either the saw or the battery so blade choice is more important I think with this one than a heavier more expensive one. Either battery, the standard 3.0 amp or replacement 6.0 works fine for light and medium duty use.

I really like this saw. working great so far.
I just got this yesterday and so far I really appreciate this saw and it already has been so useful Im kicking myself going so long without having something like this. I used it to cut up a pile of fallen branches and limbs and this saw was capable and saved me a lot of time and effort I used to spend sawing with the tree saws I have. I then used it to cut up wood planks and 4x4's to the size where the trash guys would take them away. It worked very well and the battery lasted all the time I needed it to and still had power. I have not bought a cordless power tool in years as I had problems with ones I bought a decade ago. The advancements with the batteries is noticeably better to me and Im going to be using the cordless black and decker tools I now have often when needed. Still I find they don't have the power I may need for some things and then use the corded power tools I have. I also have a LDX120 cordless drill Ive been using and like that I also just purchased beginning of this year. I like how I can use the same battery on both. Instructions say its best to leave the battery on the charger even when not used to keep the batteries in best condition and thats fine with me.So for my needs this saw is great and would recommend it as a tool to have for taking care of sawing tasks. I wouldn't rely on this to cut the rear ends out of Crown victorias like the saws alls I would use when I used to work doing that. We would use more powerful saws to cut though the metal to get them out but it might work? I also got the dewalt blades that amazon sells so now I really am ready to handle all the sawing and cutting tasks I may come across in taking care of the home I live in.

Good product, great price
I replaced all my metal water pipes underneath my home with PVC, so I bought this to help me cut thru the old metal water pipes and it worked exactly as it should. It worked great in tight spaces and it also saved my arms using a traditional hacksaw, which would have taken me longer to do. It is a great price point BUT the battery life on these products do not last more than 30 minutes or so, however that does not bother me too much because I have three Craftsman Bolt On batteries that are interchangeable and have ALOT more UMPH to them than the original battery that is used for this product. This product DOES NOT come with a battery, so that might be a big drawback for some. Case in point, good value for the money, does a good job and is holding up VERY well for most of the jobs that I have used it on, such as cutting pipes, wood products such as 2x4, molding, door trim, tree branches, etc....I am a very happy customer but let's face it, all battery powered products have their time limits. CIAO :)

Got the job done
I used this saw to cut through several 2x4 studs that had a closed wall on the opposite side. The saw cut through the boards like a hot knife through butter with the blade that came packed with the saw.A few negatives I noticed were that the blade shoe pivots for angled or close cuts, but has no way to lock. This definitely didn't stay still while making cuts and got in the way more than it acted as a guide. The blade that came with the saw was fairly long and the shoe was not adjustable, so I had to hold the saw far from the wall to make my cuts which resulted in less than straight lines and a lot of movement in the saw. Pick up a pack of blades of varying sizes that you can swap out on the fly.Pros are that the saw had no trouble making cuts without much vibration of the saw itself making it easy and comfortable to use without gloves. It's not heavy. The reversible blade option came in handy to get the blade into tight spaces, however I wish the saw had two triggers so that it was easier to turn on when holding it upside down. Worked perfectly with my 20v battery I use with other B&D tools.
