Instructions are lacking
This railing works great once you get it installed, but the installation instructions don't tell you how long you need to make the pieces that route UP the flights of stairs. If you have a single flight of stairs, with no landings in the middle, it's not an issue, but my stairs have a landing in the middle of two flights of stairs. This company needs to provide some guidance on different situations, and not just assume everyone has a single, uninterrupted flight of stairs. They provide a great dimensioned drawing to tell you how far the rail offsets from the wall, and how far you need to extend the rail to go around a 90° corner, or for an inside corner, if everything is on the same level, but there is nothing to tell you how long to make the piece that routes up a flight of stairs to a landing in the middle of the stairs, how to transition to that landing, then transition from that landing to continue up the next flight of stairs. You need to figure it out yourself. This isn't an easy task, as there are code-required ranges for the height above the nose of the stair and the landing. If you get the length too long for the angled piece above the stairs, then the rail above your landing starts out too high, and then when you transition from that landing to the next flight of stairs, you are starting too high for that set of stairs. It's not a simple matter of cutting it and testing it, because if you cut it too short, that piece is now useless. If you cut it too long, you need to disassemble everything to take it down to cut it again. It shouldn't be trial and error. If you install this for a living you will eventually know what to do, but for a homeowner doing a one-time install, more information is needed. If you have some CAD software, you can draw it out exactly, but measuring your stair dimensions with long spirit-levels, measuring tapes, and angles of the flights of stairs, in the confined space of the stairs, and with all of the trim on the stairs, you don't have enough hands to do it alone.

Impressive product
Didn't know what to expect when i ordered the product (ordered two 2ft handrail kits and a 3ft handrail kit). I liked the look of them as soon as i unpacked them (they arrived reasonably fast considering they had to go through customs as well - ordered from Canada). Solidly built, but very finely finished, the handrails surpassed all my expectations. Putting the kit together and attaching them to the backyard wall was easy, due to the ingenious design of the entire kit; it all would have been a breeze had it not been for the wholes i had to drill into the brick walls for the brackets that sustain the handrails . But with a hammer drill that was also done relatively easily. Now when installing one of the brackets, a screw and its thread got damaged. I kept turning the screwdriver and the screw was not going anywhere. Finally i realized the thread was gone, so i thought, let me email the seller, see what they say. I did and to my surprise, they replied the next day, saying they will send me a replacement at no cost. The replacement bracket was at my door in a day and a half. Last night i installed the last of the 3 handrail kits, and the elderly person who lives with us and is the main beneficiary of the handrails is very happy with the results, and so are we. The whole setup looks great in our opinion and it feels very solid and safe, too. The price was a bit steep, but compared to other products i looked at (and adding into the mix the CAD vs US dollar parity), it is totally reasonable. (We will see how well the handrails take the Canadian winter, but being aluminum, that shouldn't be a problem).Definitely recommend the product - very good quality - as well as the team that stands behind it - they demonstrated excellent professinalism and care for their customers.

very good railing
I got these for two deck stairs railings. I used them as secondary continuous railings that is needed to pass the California code.Pros:- Very well made.- Good metal and well painted.- Nice design for the supports;- Certainly a do-it-yourself kind of railing- shipping on time, packaging goodCons:- Expensive.- The prepackaged options either have too many or too little of the supporting hardware depending on your situation. A reasonably priced ala-cart would have been better.- When connecting the rails to the end pieces, there is always a visible gap at the connection. The two pieces basically need to exactly meet at the junction but they never do. Especially if you have to cut one. That means water can get in (in case of outdoor use). An overlapping fit would have been better.- You sometimes get to a catch 22 situation when installing these rails on stairs. The railing supports head tilts left and right to accommodate the needed slope. It has a screw that needs to be tightened so it can keep its angle. you need to install the rail and the tilting head support to see what that angle is, but then you cannot fasten the screw that holds the head's angle after installation because it is either blocked by the post or the wall, unless you have a 90-degree screwdriver. If you fasten the screw before installing the railing, you are at best guessing the angle and you may be wrong and have to uninstall, reinstall.I am generally very happy with the product.

Will pass a permit
Bought this for my old house that was missing a handrail and has a steep staircase. This is a high quality handrail, well designed, fairly easy to install and feels sturdy in your hand.My only problem is the screws included, they strip very easily, and on a steep staircase, putting screws not in centered, I had to throw them away.My advice is buy your own construction screws, 2 and a half inch, or if you want to match, floor screws which are black. Robertson bits don’t strip as easily as their Philips brothers. My two cents, a good buy for the price.

Great Quality!
Love this handrail! Just installed it today so I don’t know how it stands up to the weather yet. But it looks great, is sturdy and very high quality. There are some helpful videos on the manufacturer’s website. We we able to angle the lower end downwards instead of sideways which functioned better with our placement. We had a challenge with installing the brackets on vinyl siding with 1” foam insulation beneath. A helpful neighbour suggested we measure the depth of the siding and insulation using a drill bit and stopping when it touched wood. We then cut a metal pipe, that was just large enough for the screw to pass through, into 6 pieces (1 5/8 “ long - our measured depth) and drilled holes in the siding and foam to the same width and depth. Inserted the pipes, positioned the railing with the bracket screw holes in line with the pipes and screwed it into position. The screws supplied with the railing are 2 1/2” long and were sufficient to hold the railing solidly. Our parents will be happy to finally have a railing to grab on to when they come visiting.

Great product with an even better customer support
I had placed several orders to Promenaid. This one was to replace a temporary handrail installed in the stairs leading to the basement.I really like the product. I think is easy to install, and it really looks wonderful, without having to pay thousands of dollar. For the first two orders, before even ordering the product, I got in contact with Promeaid, Rob Geller and Kell Warshaw,. who were very kind to help me with the design of the handrail, as the stairs had some specific configuration. This last order got lost by the courier, however, Matt Brookman was so nice to expedite a new order for me at no cost. The product arrived very fast, specially in this weird times. So, in addition to a great product, Promenaid has the best customer service possible.I am glad to have done business with this company, has made my life very easy. Thanks a lot for all your help gentlemen.
