These hip pads are outstanding. Lightweight, thin, but protective. Paying $50 for these is a great value compared to a hospital bill!I’ve fallen without pads and had terrible bruises and pain for a week. I’ve fallen with these—and it still hurts, but the foam dissipates the energy and protects the important bits.

Last night these Triple 8 Shorts saved me from an even bigger injury when I crashed. I had a big accident on my Uni Wheel electric board (won’t say the brand name) and am left with a really messed up knee that needs surgery but everywhere these 8 shorts covered, I was saved! I have bruising to my R hip muscle I fell onto, but no breaks! Without these shorts I am positive I would have broken my hip!I weigh 233 & am 5’9, I got the 3XL hoping they would fit even though my hips are bigger than what the graph shows for size. Another commenter said they were easily able to fit into their Triple 8 shorts being over the size scale so I decided to take a chance.I am so thankful for these shorts! ER x-Ray confirmed no breaks, just pretty bruised up. Even the ER doctor said I was smart to wear these shorts & had I not been wearing so much protection all over, I would be much worse off.I won’t hesitate to recommend these shorts to friends & family! Super priced and they come in a mesh bag for easy keeping.

I received these shorts on time. I am using them for roller derby, and its as if these give me enough confidence to skate better. I fell once and it was great coverage. If you get air and fall, it will still hurt, but these shorts buffer your bits. If I could change one thing... they seem to ride up a bit... otherwise they're great. Love the wide waistband.

sizing is a little off. i'm a 200lb 6' dude, i fit a size 36, but prefer a looser fit so i go 38 on pant/shorts. the L here doesn't really fit to 38. barely 36. i'd say max comfort fit of a size 34 for the large and max comfort size is 40 for the XL. the large for me is too tight as it becomes restrictive of movement and just feels too tight. padding seems ok for slalom skateboarding and maybe some park cruising. this is probably not the correct equipment for high speed falls on pavement, but certainly better than nothing.

These are perfect for a new skater learning the basics for roller derby. They make the unexpected and improper falls much more bearable. I would highly recommend. I fell 5 times last night on my butt/hips during practice and I can't even tell today! My only complaint is that they are really really short so I have to wear them under leggings to be comfortable. They don't ride up on your butt though and they can't ride up on your thighs as they fit like a boyshort style underwear.

Ordered a small for my daughter whos 10 and she’s skinny and still too small, she said it was too itchy and the padding/foam moved around alot, and she didnt feel safe; I had her fall on the carpet to test it out and landed right on her buttocks, she said, her tailbone did not feel protected, she can still feel the floor underneath the carpet pretty hard.. She has Triple 8 pull up knee pads and those are great, not sure why these are not and they very uncomfortable, whether she wore it under her thinnest yoga pants or over, still wasn’t comfortable and felt restricted to the point where she could not focus on what she needed to do with her skates, so I have returned these and waiting for a refund from the seller… Maybe Ill try another brand till I find the best ones and not only that, these were not worth the price I paid for, its too expensive for something she cannot use and did not feel safe with… My daughter was around 70lbs.. and If I gotten 1 size up, still would be the same issues because the foam padding were not great

I just started training for roller derby (with a fractured tailbone) and these have been literal bum savers! They are great protection for falling in multiple directions. While they don't totally stop the pain or bruises, they have kept me from re-injuring my tailbone.I'm 5'3, and a fairly muscular size 14. I bought size XL and they are a bit loose, but allow me to wear layers. I'd recommend these for anyone playing derby or who just wants to stake and needs a bit of extra cushion!

All the pads are removable. I didn’t want the thigh pads so I took them out and they work great. I am male and figured these were designed for females as they are derby model. Took a chance and glad I did. The fit seems weird in the crotch area at first but I don’t notice them anymore. They seem to fit like a tight boxer brief with the leg part completely cut off. Pads are fairly thick and soft. Wiped out off a rail snowboarding and they seemed to make a difference. Quality is up to par with other triple 8 gear.

I bought this after having three bad falls in a row at a roller derby beginner session. After looking on Reddit, this had a lot of buzz about it so I ordered one to see if it would protect my tailbone from falls. I fell within the first five minutes of wearing it, landed hard on my lower back, but I was able to get up right away and back to skating for the rest of the session. It’s done wonders for my confidence. I wear it under leggings and it’s not actually noticeable, I genuinely have to tell people I’m wearing it. It is quite a comfortable fit, but it does feel a bit like an adult nappy/diaper. For the safety element and protection alone, I would rate this 10/10.

En théorie, ce produit protège d'éventuels chocs sur les hanches (entre autre!) mais la mousse est beaucoup trop fine (1,5 cms) alors qu'avec la photo de présentation, cela parait beaucoup plus épais; pour mon cas personnel, ce produit est inutile.

El pantalón es de buena calidad, se ajunta bien la talla, yo pedía la L y gasto una 44, y resulta cómolo. Básicamente el motivo por el que me lo compre es porque me rómpí la cabeza del femur patinado y es una zona que suelo, pero justamente en esa zona no tiene protección, si te calleras con junto ahi te darías contra el suelo. Una pena prque me gustaba mucho.
