it did not work on Mac Mojave and Catalina!
I was mislead by the reviews here. in my case, it did not work on Mac Mojave and Catalina, right after I updated my operating system from macOS High Sierra to Mojave, and then to Catalina.

Lightweight inexpensive DVD burner, but no manual eject
The media could not be loaded. Newer laptops these days don't always come with a DVD drive, as manufacturers are looking for ways to cut weight, price, and power. And with more and more content available via streaming services, I suppose the thinking is that users just don't need DVD drives anymore. For those of us who still have a lot of content on CDs and DVDs, and who need to access DVD drives filled with data for our work assignments, this is unfortunate, as it leaves us without any option. Enter the iBlood External Super Slim USB 2.0 DVD VCD CD RW Drive Burner. It's lightweight and low-powered, weighing just a few ounces and receiving its power entirely through the attached USB cable, so no extra power cord and power brick to worry about. Keep in mind, though, that it really is drawing all of its power through that USB cable. If your USB port doesn't have the power output it needs, the drive will not work. The drive is plug-and-play. You simply plug it in, wait a few seconds for the system to update, and then it looks and behaves exactly as if it were an internal drive. In size, it's perhaps twice as thick as the average DVD case and just a little longer and wider. The case is solid and appears to be well-made and, thankfully, the top doesn't really show fingerprints at all.Without a disc in the drive, there's little to no sound, other than some startup whirring when you plug it in. With a disc in the drive, there is some sound but it's mostly just a low hum, as you can hear in the attached video. With a DVD or CD playing, the drive sound was entirely masked by the sound from the disc it was playing.I tested the drive on four systems: two Windows desktop computers and two Windows laptops. The laptops were a 2-year-old Dell laptop I use for work and a 6-year-old Lenovo laptop that's my home laptop. I tested this on both Windows 7 and Windows 8. In all cases, the drive really was plug-and-play. On three of the systems, the drive was ready in just a few seconds. The older Lenovo laptop took longer to update properly, taking roughly 45 seconds on first plug-in. That proved to be a one-time-cost. When I unplugged, then re-plugged in the drive, it spun up in less than 10 seconds in subsequent times.Playback of both DVDs and CDs was flawless on both systems. The drive supports USB 2.0, not USB 3.0, but USB 2.0 is adequate for playback of this type (if this were a Blu-Ray external drive, it would probably have to be USB 3.0). I also tested its burning capabilities by copying a DVD I own and then playing that DVD on a variety of sources. It copied slower than its rated top 8x speed but that was because I was copying a Dual Layer disc, where the speed is rated to be 4x. In my case, I got between 2.1x and 3.4x, adequate for my needs but not exactly a barn-burner. If you really need top speed, you'll have to spend at least twice as much money, and probably closer to triple the cost. I also tested various other operations, including ripping a video file from a DVD, copying files to and from the DVD, and so on, and the burner worked without any incident or failures, taking everything I threw at it.There were two things that I would have liked to see modified on this drive. The first is that I would have liked a standard USB to micro-USB cord so that I could use the length of cord appropriate for my needs. In testing this on my desktop computers, for example, the attached cord was really too short and I had to kludge something together for my testing. And if that cord ever fails, the drive is no longer usable. The second drawback is that there is no manual eject on the drive. I wouldn't have expected a button to press, necessarily, but I was hoping for one of those emergency eject holes, where you can insert a paper clip to eject a stubborn disc. I've had to do that on my desktop drives a few times over the years and it worries me that this drive doesn't have that capability. The only way to get the disc out is to plug the drive into a computer, right-click, and select eject. The overwhelming majority of the time, that's just not an issue. I do worry a bit about that 1 time in a thousand where it might be.At $27.59 at the time I'm writing this review, this external DVD burner is roughly in the middle of the pack in terms of price. I like not having an external power cord or power brick to worry about and I like having the capability of bringing along a lightweight drive for those times when I need it. It easily fits in my laptop bag with a cloth between it and my laptop. It handled everything I needed quite well, other than being a bit slower than my built-in drives on my primary desktop computer (on the other hand, those cost over 5 times as much as this drive). Given the drawbacks noted above, I'm going to ding it a star. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with it and can recommend it.Disclaimer: the manufacturer provided a sample for review purposes with no restrictions on the review outcome. I have no personal or financial interest in the company or in anyone employed there.

Great Price For What It Does
I'm just loving it!!! This is a great deal if your tired of paying for everything all the time. You definitely have to have good internet, or it may take you forever to buffer out. I recommend getting a pre-loaded box, as it does not come with instructions on how to load the programs on it. (took me three days and a lot of frustration to figure it out) Once you figure it out, it is actually very simple. I also recommend watching how to videos on you-tube. That's what helped me figure out how to load apps on it. It really is a good deal for the price !!!!
