You won’t be able to tell a functional difference between this one and the more expensive Park Tool.

A couple of whacks and the headset came out of my 1970's frame which will make it easy to repaint.

I discovered that you really need one of these to remove a Headset, a Headset Press to fit the new Headset, and watch a video to see how to use both properly.This tool does the job, but did skip a little on the bottom insert until I knocked the easier top insert out first.It's great that these tools are cheap enough now, so that you can DIY on your own schedule (e.g. in an evening), and avoid the hassle of booking a repair, taking the bicycle to a bicycle shop during shop hours, taxi/bus, waiting, and collecting the bicycle during shop hours.I have an old threaded 1" fork and didn't know the height measurements accurately, so had to make one mistake with a 'premium' Headset replacement which fractured its plastic needle bearing holders; so this tool saw some use.The new M:Part sealed cartridge bearing replacement (I sourced) seriously shames the old shop fitted caged ball bearing rubbish and ends all play which could never be fixed by tightening the old Headset.

Crude but effective, and at the price less than a trip to the bike shop. Its meant for 1" or 1 1/8" - i suspect it fits better for the larger size - certainly on my old road bike the ends didn't splay fully, so it came right through a couple of times without bringing the headset with it - but after a few goes it did the job.Plenty of websites out there suggesting you make your own out of a length of pipe (which is essentially what this is) - If i'd had a foot of 3/4" copper pipe i'd probably have tried that first

Works well and is made of decent quality metal it feels like it can withstand a battering
