Performs well but could be more durable
The performance of my walkie has not been degraded by the use of this stubby antenna so no problem there. Stubbies definitely make a walkie-talkie easier to wear and to handle. The only issue with this product is durability. A dropped radio that causes this antenna to receive a significant impact can quite easily splinter the antenna housing causing it to go flying. Now you're straightening out the antenna and gluing the thing back together. That said, it's quite inexpensive. So, if you are buying one, buy two.

For a stubby antenna it does its job
I did an in depth look at all the stubby antennas on the market. I came to one conclusion that a stubby antenna can be no better than another manufacture of a stubby antenna. Meaning that one manufacture is no better than another manufacture of this type of antenna. The range will be approx. the same among this type of short antenna. So a Diamond or Comet antenna will show very little advantage over a gray market version. So save your money and go with this antenna, it will be just fine.

iSaddle Short Antenna SRH805S SMA Female for BaoFeng UV-5R UV-5RA UV-5RB
It is definitely a low profile antenna that I can appreciate for those time I do not want to publicly display my radio. It has a slightly better range than the stock antenna, but I will leave up to you to decide. I like it and I am using mine without an issue.

Diamond counterfeit
I've had this for about 3 months now. It came in a Diamond package and is marked as such but its a fake. (confirmed by Diamond)It is small and compact but the good stops there. It works very poorly. On TX, even when crossbanding close range or HT simplex is marginal since often even your body is enough to block the signal. RX is ok if its a strong signal but even then sometimes its choppy. And forget it if you are inside.I bought a real Diamond, the one Style 2 copies. It's light years better and honestly its better than the stock antenna. Spend a couple extra bucks on the real thing.

Better than expected!
Slightly less than two inches long and not bad, at least as far as receiving ability goes. Better than the stock antenna for reception. I do not expect this to have a huge transmit range but that's what I bought it for. Fits the UV-5R quite well.

Somewhat decent, but blatant counterfeit
Comical knockoff of a Diamond antenna model. Being a blatant counterfeit (especially in the packaging department) Amazon had no problems processing a return/refund. It's one thing to buy a no name chinese made antenna and expecting exactly that. But it becomes a problem in my book when it rips off other legitemate brands/companies.A friend also ordered some and doesn't have the same reservations as I do so he ran them through some basic testing on amateur frequencies and found his to be quite similar in performance to the stock rubber duck antennas. That is to say, halfway decent (on uhf.)

this antenna works great. it provides long range reception
this antenna works great. it provides long range reception, yet compact that is does not get in your way as your are moving around the job site.

Easy to carry works very well
If I don't need to carry a large HT I use a small Baofeng with this antenna. I can still hit the local repeater from my basement. I usually carry it to cross band with my mobile rig.
