My small girl cat loves this box and is in it all the time. My issue is that the flaps at the doorway are bulky and are in the way of her getting in and out. She doesn’t like them so I leave them open which is better for her but unfortunately then I can’t keep the box dry. The rain just pours in. I’ve got it covered all round now with plastic sheeting extending over the front but her blanket still gets wet at the doorway. It also leaks at the back in the rain if it’s windy where the roof hinges onto the box. Positioning the box with its back to a wall would make this better. The box is quite small but very cosy. My Bonnie isn’t a big cat and if she stretches out, her head is right at the front entrance. Bear that in mind if your cat is medium sized.

Wouldn’t buy again

We purchased this as an outdoor cat hutch or bed as our oldish cat is now banned from indoors during the night. It is well constructed and has a useful latched lid to peer inside. It looks pretty enough but it is very thin and not very wind proof. I have lines it with insulating material both inside and out. I pop a hot water bottle in at night and the cat seems happy. I would think it would be better to provide some insulation to protect better from wind and wet.

The first one I bought was just for fun for our cat in the garden. Then I noticed a stray living in the churchyard behind our house. I started to feed her while she was popped onto a waiting list for a rescue space and when the weather turned cold, I lined this box with a cut up camping mat to make it warmer and hid it under some bushes at the church. The cat used it instantly and was in there for about a month before finally she could be trapped on NYE and taken to a rescue centre. She's now doing well and has since been rehomed.Brilliant little boxes these, probably saved our stray from freezing to death and have since bought another for our cat as I donated the first box to the rescue centre to help with other strays on their list.

I really like it. I bought it for my cats so they hide somewhere to sleep outside when they want to. It’s sturdy, waterproof and stylish. I think you could buy it cheaper elsewhere compared to Amazon maybe?
