Work ok for small gatherings

I had to replace my OXO 12 inch tongs. exact replica, except the stainless steel guage is slightly thinner. Will they last as long as my OXO’s? I doubt it but at 1/3 the cost, they don’t need to last as long.

I was looking for small tongs because I am only five feet tall and have small hands. I bought some 6-inch cheap plastic tongs and they were pure garbage, which I returned. (Thank heavens for Amazon's easy return policy.) So then I bought this model -- got the 9-inch length. I've had it for over a year and it still looks new and shiny and locks great. The price is right and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 9-inch length if you're like me: short, with short arm length and small hands. I'd buy it again if I needed another one and I would feel totally comfortable buying this as a gift.

There's not much to review about stuff like this, except that they work well, the lock mechanism is easy to use (even with just one hand, as I often find myself doing in the kitchen), and they haven't failed on me yet. I do wish the body portion of the tongs was sealed off from food/liquids to make them easier to clean, but whenever something gets stuck in the hollow core of the tongs, a quick scrub with a kitchen brush takes care of it.

You would expect to pay far more for these great tongs!! I use them every day when cooking, especially when frying. GET SOME.

Pros: Single piece construction, dishwasher safe, easy to wash. Nice and shiny!Cons: I wish there was some way to keep this closed. I leave this in my shallow drawer and it pops open and jams up my drawer when I try to open it. Also, I think the top spatula is a "little" too small. I wish it was maybe 3/4 of the size of the bottom spatula - I sometimes can't get a great grip on something that is heavy and larger than the spatula (such as a steak or chicken breast). For flipping burgers, though, it is a good size.

Perfect for my needs, I have a longer one and wanted a shorter handled one. Good price; good product.
