A stacked-look heel features a traction outsole for an attractive, yet walkable finish. The essential details collection is for the man who wants a modern look that's versatile enough for a suit or a pair of jeans. Hydro-shield waterproof technology and leathers help repel water. Choose from conservative lace-up and slip-on styles, or dress them up with fashion-forward touches like oxblood and sophisticated wingtip stitching. Rockport has always been one step ahead of the times, believing the perfect shoe has not yet been invented. This positive dissatisfaction compels them to constantly improve upon their footwear. Founded in 1971, they were the first company to use advanced athletic technologies in casual shoes to achieve lightweight comfort, and the first company to engineer walking comfort in dress and casual shoes.

fair quality for the price, but these could be much better for a little bit more money
These shoes get the basic job done (was looking for some sharp/conservative, business casual *waterproof* shoes for work), but the leather so far seems cheap - more like low-end bonded leather than full-grain.As a result, it doesn't seem that these will last nearly as long, nor will they develop creases that will look or wear nearly as well as my old Rockport DresSports wing-tips (non-waterproof) from perhaps 20 years ago that I still own and wear and enjoy.I attached a photo illustrating how the creases/wrinkles in this leather look after a few days of wear. It's hard to tell from the photo, but there seems to be some sort of plastic layer over the leather, and that's what is wrinkling in an unnatural way -- similar to low-end bonded leather, if you have experience with that type of leather.I'm not sure what the point of the waxed laces is. Maybe they protect against soggy laces (is that really a serious problem?), but even if I double-knot these slippery/stiff laces, they still come undone in a few hours with average office walking around. And this last observation is probably my own fault, but I packed these for a business trip on Sunday, and when I unpacked in the hotel that evening, I discovered that these shoes left black streaks all over the folded dress shirt on top of the stack. A quick application of Tide stick couldn't fix it, so I had to send the shirt out for laundering via the hotel's front desk. Luckily they were able to get the black marks off, for $6.05.Despite all those negative observations, it's hard to complain too much for the price I paid ($75, and free shipping), though. They are comfortable, with a very short break-in period, and the soles haven't squeaked on marble or linoleum, as some other reviewers mentioned. (My pair has the Adidas "Adiprene" soles; not sure if all versions of this shoe use the same material.)One caveat: Though I bought these specifically because they are claimed to be waterproof, it hasn't actually rained yet while I've been wearing them (I've had them for a couple of weeks). I'll try to remember to post a follow-up if I have a bad experience with their waterproof feature. Hopefully that won't be the case, because if it is, I'll be inclined to drop another star or two from my rating.

Somewhat Diminished Model from Earlier Versions
I've purchased these shoes from Rockport for many years, and although I will keep these shoes and try to break them in, they are not as comfortable to me as the previous models, the leather top looks no where's near as good, and the arch support is pretty minimal. They are OK for general use if you don't have to be too dressy, but it's been three days and I'm still not very comfortable in them. I hope they are waterproof as they are supposed to be (all my previous models were), but I don't know that yet until we get some rain. I'm not trying to be terribly negative here, because they are OK shoes and I plan to keep them, but they are not as nice as the older model (which I've purchased for about fifteen years now). I would rate them four stars, and I would wait until they are on sale.

Just ok
Update to my earlier review for January. It would be wise to get a better in soul in the shoes. After a few weeks of walking in them I started having lower back pains. I replaced the in soul, and the back pain went away. Very lite shoe, not sure how long they are going to last.I expected a more sturdier shoe. But time will tell how they stand up to everyday walking at work.

Pretty OK
These have a bit more gloss than the otherwise identical shoes they are replacing. Pretty comfortable. My only real complaint is the laces. They are so stiff they will come undone within minutes of walking.I walk more than 2 miles per day just getting to and from work, so comfortable & waterproof with good wet traction is critical. Rain / snow / whatever. These shoes have a unique rubber sole with "sipes" that have good grip on wet pavement.I put over 700 miles on my last pair before the heels wore out. The rest of the shoe was still fine if a bit scuffed.

Consistent fit and good wearing shoe
Good wearing shoe with consistent fit, this is my second pair. Not sure how waterproof they are, but they are better than nothing living up north. Rubber sole is a must to go between the office, slippery parking lots, and manufacturing floor. Leather still looked good after I wore the foot beds out on my last pair, but they lasted longer than anything else I've tried in 15 years at the same job. Good fit, and easy break-in for me.

Nice, quality, formal shoes
Great quality shoe, but I think its regular price is priced a bit too high. I like the nice texturing on the sole, which is a good firm rubber that looks durable. Leather finish is nice too. The only negative is the shoelaces are very slippery, which makes them hard to tie. They are coated with something, I dunno why.

The quintessential office shoe
The heel padding could be thicker, and really should be; but beyond that I have no complaints. It's a sharp looking, good fitting, comfortable shoe. Perfect for the office, not quite fancy enough to be formal and no quite casual enough for the street, though. So yeah, pretty use specific. Not that that's a bad thing and it's great quality for its price.

Good shoes for the office
I always buy Rockport dress shoes for work and as usual it's another good quality pair of shoes. I like Rockport shoes because they're comfortable, available in wide width, my orthotics fti in the shoes, and they look dressy.

Here for a good time, not for a long time
I bought a pair of these roughly nine months ago, and although they've served me very well in that time, they're starting to fall apart now. The heels have worn almost through into the inside of the soles, and there are some deep scuff marks on the toe of one shoe. I don't know if I should have expected these to be more durable or to have a longer lifespan. But I'm happy for everything I got out of them. They're a handsome, comfortable, and water-resistant pair of shoes. When my current pair are worn out, I might just buy another pair of these!
