Useful water drip system
These seem to work well. You put the device together (easy, the 3 parts just screw together), fill a water bottle and insert the device, then turn it over. I was initially alarmed that the "trough" of the device, where the bottle is attached, filled with water, but it doesn't overflow as fluid dynamics just allows it to fill the trough then stop. The bit that goes into the water bottle isn't fully round, and leaves a gap at one side - I suspect this is to allow an occasional bubble of air back into the bottle (otherwise a vacuum would be created and the water couldn't drip). The water in the trough part of the device then drips into your soil - the drip part needs to be fully screwed into the device, then loosened slightly to get the drip rate you want. If you're using this while away on holiday then you'll want a very slow drip rate. I'm finding that a 500ml bottle lasts about 3 days with my current drip rate, but I could tighten it to reduce the flow further. The device has no problem holding a 500ml bottle upright, but I haven't tried a bigger bottle yet and that might take a bit more trial and error to get it to stay upright. I suspect you'd need to use a 1/1.5 litre bottle to cover a holiday.I'd recommend practicing with this to find an appropriate drip rate before you go away. And if you're using this while you're at home you might also hear a very occasional tiny gurgle when a bubble is drawn into the bottle. It's a clever piece of engineering, and I'm very happy with it.

Not fit for purpose
Near impossible to set to a slower drip rate (anything below 10s/drop), but seemed fine once I finally managed to do it; then I left it for a couple of days to make sure it still worked, and once again it seemed alright. Then I set a couple of these up for my plants, with a 500ml bottle on each, before I left for a two-week holiday. Once I got home, I found that the bottles were still 3/4 full, and no water was dripping out anymore... Luckily the plants survived, but this waste of money is going in the bin!

A more efficient valve would improve this item.
It does work but I have only had medium success with this item. I had to use an elastic band to give a tighter fit with the water bottle I used. I found the valve very tricky to operate when trying to get the drops to fall out at the rate of one every 30 seconds.

Not fit for purpose
I was foolish enough to buy this product twice without trialling it properly. It assembled easily but when I tried to use it there was a big problem. I fitted the bottle and then inverted it. Water gushed out not from the dripper but from the surrounding top. I haven't managed to find a way to slow the water coming out of the bottle so it doesn't overfill the spike 'reservoir' so I really can't give a positive review

Not very practical.
Hard to see water when adjusting water flow, not strudy enough for a medium to large bottle.

Can't get them to drip feed. Bottle just empties as soon as I fill it. Unless I'm doing it wrong.

Waste of time.
This product does not even last a day. Not suitable for use while away on holidays at all.
