Absolute dream - as advertised
Excellent bow, definitely great value for money with the high quality and looks.Brilliant in hand - very well balanced, smooth and beautiful deep sound.Fantastic for intermediate player as advertised. Very pleased with this purchase. Arrived in slightly damaged packaging due to delivery, so I was a bit worried of the product itself, but no damage to the bow done. After all, I am very pleased customer.

it does give a dark tone
well made, unusual black hairs make a slightly coarser sound; balance good

Nicely balanced
This arrived quickly considering it was from China .Well packaged in a sold plastic tube and looking great. You will need to need to put in the work of getting the Rosin into the bow but now that is done this does give a very smooth flow. Nicely balanced. I am at intermediate stage and this is very suitable for my current needs.

Wrong rosin?
This looks great as a display piece, but I cannot make it strike a chord with anything- it just washes over the strings with no contact. It looks lovely, but I clearly have the wrong rosin.

Me gustó y a mi maestra también.
Es bonito, no es pesado, se ve firme. Tal vez un poco más de crin de caballo y sería Perfecto. Me gustó el sonido.Envío rápido.

3 stars for 103VB black (Cubic Zirconium), 5 stars for 100VB black
Bow delivered in PVC tube with a light wrap. The 103VB bow weighs about 59g, loosen for travel, and no loose hair was evident.Con:-Felt a few small bumps in the carbon fiber near the top of the bow-Difficult to get rosin to stick on this bow-evidence of at least 1 lost hair via a stub at the tip that has already been removed-minimal horsehair quantityPro:-consider light at 59g-I can see bow would play well if rosin did stick-nice winding-easy to care for and wipe the rosin off the bow after use-very easy to tighten or loosen** Note, my 103VB bow may have been defective because of how the rosin reacted.I am an experienced violinist and not a professional. I know that bows generally come un-rosined for a multitude of reasons. One of the few is to indicate it is new and unused. Another is so you can use your rosin of choice. So I am not surprised to receive a bow that makes little to no noise. For this bow, thou, I spent about 30 min, stopping in between to test the string. I never could get it to feel natural on the string. It felt like there was a coating that prevented rosin from sticking.-------------------------------------I returned the above bow and got a 100VB black horse hair and this bow deserves full stars. This bow came in a brown bubble envelope. It was a lot easier for rosin to stick on this bow.Pros:-Black horsehair, easy to see how much rosin you have on the bow-61g (plus or minus 0.5 grams)-responsive on the acoustic violin and even more beautiful sounding on the electric violin-Balance suits me-easier to pull across the stringsCons:-small cosmetic bumps towards the middle of the carbon fiber bow(I hope the bumps wouldn't affect the integrity of the bow in the long run)-leather grip is slightly scuffed-minimal horsehair quantityI would recommend the 100VB. I enjoy the balance and it is lighter than my wooden octagon bow. There are distinct sound quality differences between a wooden and a carbon fiber bow. It is small and the carbon fiber bow sound is gentler and more elegant to me. It makes an ideal practice/spare bow.

good bow for the price.
The bow is a good bow, nice and light. One thing that was a bit disappointing was that it was delivered via Dhl/Canpar carrying a COD charge for import duties. Thankfully, Vingobow reimbursed the COD to my account. Otherwise paying $25 import fees on top of the amount I already paid, would make it not such a great deal.
