Just what I needed to locate a cable in the wall

The EL wire is brighter on one side as if the lighted wire is running against the edge of the clear shielding making it dim everywhere else. See attached image (photo taken in dim lighting).The overall brightness of the lighted EL wire is very dim, so dim that you cannot see it in a normally lighted room; basically it looks like plastic. If it weren’t for the red LED on battery control you would never know it is on.I’ve used another brand of EL wire for various projects and the wire is evenly bright and visible in a normally lit room.This has to be defect, but unfortunately this is a gift and time sensitive. As a result, I will be returning.Giving four stars because I am hoping this is only a defect and not the level of quality of the manufactures.

I got a few of these for a Halloween costume. It seemed plenty bright to me. Still works even if you hot glue it. It won't keep its shape without metal wire or tape or such. It does make a high pitched iiiiiiiiiii noise but it's not very loud. my only complaint is that I dropped one and it stopped working. Got my brother to take it apart but he couldn't see anything wrong. However, the company was pretty fast with getting me a replacement one.

Dimmer than I had hoped and buzz sounds come from them.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered the red. I put the batteries in it and turned it on and nothing happened besides a very annoying buzzing noise. I had to turn all the lights out to see it light up. Completely useless for anywhere that has light. If you’re using it at night it’s ok but in any lighting condition brighter than a table lamp light it’s impossible to tell that the wire is on. Very disappointed. Threw mine away as I got it on sale for like 5$ and it’s not worth the hassle of returning it.

I purchased for my husband who wanted some back light for his "wall art" he's created in our bar. They are the perfect light blue light that sits behind his creations (car grills mostly with headlight areas on both sides).. the back lighting is great at night.

This product was the first of it's kind in the longer lengths. I was concerned that it might be dim or have poor color, but I was pleasantly surprised. The light traveled the entire length (33 feet) and was bright and rich in color. Some colors show better than others, but this product was awesome and I would highly recommend it if you need E wire in longer lengths.

Really good and bright

... It's only ok. The product itself works as expected and it did the job I needed to do with zeo issue. My only criticism is the lighted wire itself isn't nearly as bright as the images indicate. I made an out door garden sculpture. Wired the EL wire into the spots required and turned it in. I thought the wire was broken, but it turns out it was just so dim it doesn't shine in day light. It does shine at night, but you have get quite close to notice. I'm sure it looks great indoors at night. It's limited to those perametres - indoors and visible in dark, DARK areas.

Not very bright - but it did last a whole week at Burning Man, so will give it credit for that.

the electrical noise from the battery pack is enough to make me nuts in just the few minutes of trying it out. Definitely cannot use it for a costume idea. To bad. Everything else was good, but a bit to little light.
