Great solution for reading SRAM cards
I purchased this reader to be able to read data and graphic files created by my LeCroy 9354 oscilloscope and written onto a PCMCIA SRAM card. These older LeCroy oscilloscopes do not work with newer Flash cards, only SRAM type cards (and possibly linear Flash as well, but I have no such card to try out). The typical low cost "<x>-in-1" flash media readers do NOT work with linear Flash or SRAM PCMCIA cards. This reader unit works perfectly with my SRAM card, and I am very pleased. No instructions nor software comes with this unit, but installation is pretty self-explanatory. The odd "double-ribbon cable" that connects the PCI interface card to the reader unit is keyed in such a way as to make proper cable connection fairly obvious: insert the cables such that they do not "wrap over" the reader body or the "wrong way" on the PCI card. My Windows XP machine found and recognized the hardware right away, and loaded the required driver(s) automatically. Operation is very much what you would expect: when a PCMCIA memory card is inserted into the reader, a drive letter shows up and can be explored just like any other mass storage type device. When the card is ejected, the drive letter vanishes. For me, this is a good solution for reading the graphic plot files written from my oscilloscope onto an SRAM card. There are more convenient USB-based units that read SRAM cards, but they are typically around four times this price. In my view, saving several hundred dollars more than makes up for the inconvenience of having to physically install this reader into a machine.

Works as advertised.
Made this purchase so I could access my P2 cards without going through my camera. Works without a hitch on Windows 7. I can't attest to its compatibility with other PCMCIA cards. This didn't jump out at me in the description, but this reader only supports one card. If you need a reader that will accept two cards, keep looking. The product has a black face as shown in the product photos and is very sturdy. I am absolutely satisfied with this purchase.
