This stuff definitely works although is a little awkward to use. I guess I shouldn't complain too much because nary a critter has gotten past it. There is an opening between the front of my cabinets and the kick plate. It isn't really accessible for so much as a person's hand, but from time to time a mouse has come up from the crawl space through the opening for the water pipes and then gets access into the house through this narrow opening. Even though it is a rare occurrence, rare was too often for me.This stuff comes in a continuous roll that my granddaughter with her smaller hands could stuff up into the opening. When she got to the end of the cabinets though there's no way to separate the remainder of the roll from what had been installed but to cut the copper with shears that can manage wire without being ruined. I found some shears to do that and we cut the remainder away. That left lots of little metal fragments around that area that resist being vacuumed up. They easily lodged in the carpet fibers and after rather a lot of effort most are up, but not all. Not really a traffic area in that corner though, so I'm not all that bothered. What I wish though was that the product came is separate lengths so you didn't have to cut the wire at all.Installation has been complete now for several months but I had no way of knowing if it would be successful. If I saw a mouse of course I'd consider that a fail, but not seeing a mouse meant nothing. Well, tonight my dog became alert to tiny sounds under the cabinets and kept a silent vigil for quite a long time. Eventually the sounds ceased and he lost interest. What this tells me is that something, I presume a mouse, had come up from the crawl space, but apparently was unable to breach the copper barricade into the house and left the premises. That is a good thing and I'm very pleased with the product, just wish it had been a bit easier to install.

We used this cooper mesh to stuff cracks beneath the railing on our deck. We had grass carrying wasps nesting in the crevices. They are not harmful insects, but when there were hundreds swarming around the deck, it was not comfortable. I tried caulking the cracks, but there was too much space to fill and working upside down was horrible (and messy!). A University professor recommended this product. After mesh installation, the numbers were greatly reduced this year and the deck was usable again. However, my cracks were between every upright post so it was very tedious to cut off six inch sections of mesh and jam them in that many small cracks. It looked bad if you could see the mesh dangling below the railing. Several fell out over the summer and needed to be replaced. Perhaps I should have applied a light adhesive. Over time, the color of the mesh dulled to looking like steel wool, but it did not rust or discolor the deck. I am hoping the mesh will stay in place over the winter. Overall. the concept worked and the mesh was fairly easy to jam into the shape of each crevice. My only complaint was the amount of work involved.

I did not buy this stuff for catching mice. I bought it for my arts & crafts. It is cheaper than any other mesh I might buy that was specifically sold for use slumping glass or for making woven bracelets/necklaces. Very flexible mesh, and lots of it! Good quality copper and it is very "soft," meaning that it was not "hardened" in the context of wire wrap jewelry. I'm having fun!

A detailed bulletin I ordered from the government on rat repellents said that copper mesh keeps rats from chewing plastic waterlines, entering through wall cracks, etc. I had rats in my garage. They were too smart for traps...they just sprung the traps, stole the food, and escaped (no doubt chuckling on their way out). The bulletin was right. Amazing. I no longer have rats in my garage. Although I must admit, I also came up with my own trick--Scat Mats. They work on cats, they work on dogs, and they work on me even with a light fingertip touch. I baited the Scat Mat with goodies just once, in a place where there was always rat poop. Shazam! The bait was left untouched, and I found no more rat poop ANYWHERE in the garage.He who laughs last laughs best.

Exactly as described. Mine came in a clear plastic bag, with the roll flattened. I was able to pull out of the bag what I need and cut with standard shears or shop scissors. It's not magnetic, which I take as a good sign that it's not steel but really is copper. I used this to plug a couple holes in our soffit on the house behind our rain gutter. Then I filled with expanding construction foam that included a bitter agent to deter rodents. Our pest control person's original copper from 6 years ago came loose, and I read that using the foam combined with copper mesh is best. It's easy to work with and seems to do the trick so far.

Although advertised as real copper it's not. I tried using it for an all copper art project, and tried melting it. I think it's colored steel, but don't really know. Too soft for it to provide any structure like a true copper mesh. Returned.

looked to be thicker then it really was, seller made me pay return cost.
