A must read for Indians
This book authored by the 161 Brigade Commander Lt Gen Bogey Sen tells you what the true meaning of courage is. As he was himself in the war zone his detailed analysis of the war takes you straight to the war zone with some background analysis in the beginning. Overall a must read and if you are a defense aspirant like me then this book is mandatory for you. Fast-paced and thrilling that's all I can say about the book. 😄

Better packaging
The packaging needs to improve...the cover page was torn off at more than one place which is disheartening as a book lover . ...the book otherwise is a delight to read for someone who is interested in the insight of the confrontation from ground zero...

India's fightback in Kashmir valley
It's an informative book which consists of events of India's war in Kashmir valley during the tumultuous years of 1947-48. It provides in-depth coverage of fightback by Indian Army in challenging circumstances despite having limitations in war-fighting infrastructure and acute shortage of manpower.

First Into-Pakistan War post-partition in 1947
Great and historically informative book about what really happened between India and Pakistan immediately after the partition of into two independent dominions in 1947. As you begin reading, you automatically become a Lieutenant General, traversing the battlefield and planning important operations until the very end of the book, where you will never be the same civilian again. The book will always be in my library for future reference.

1947-48 India Pakistan War over Jammu & Kashmir
The account by the Indian Military Commander who is was there in the thick of it.This involved on paper small number of forces when compared to the massive scale of the Second World War, but still fast paced, and with far fewer resources. It was a short but a desperate conflict.A country split suddenly into, with bloodshed and chaos in the two newly born countries, disrupted unit cohesion due to mass repatriation and non-availabilty weapons, sudden declared neutraility of British Officers and even as interferring British Officers were placed in High Command, fighting against soldiers who were in the same Army a moment ago, the author tells it in his stride and honesty.
