lThis is the 4th gate we have tried and I am SO happy to have found this one after reading so many reviews. This gate is perfect for our needs. We have 2 dogs, a large Rhodesian Ridgeback and a small Pomeranian and both dogs are contained by this gate. I LOVE this gate and hardly write reviews, but this one warrants a positive review.Installation was a little tricky, because I was working in such a small space, the doorway was barely large enough to fit the gate, but it does perfectly. Also the wrench that they give you can only be used by slipping the wrench inside of the nut, instead of on the outside like a traditional wrench, so once I was able to manipulate the screws with my fingers enough to slip in the wrench, it was sooo much easier. That took some patience. I am a fairly handy gal and was able to install without any help. I did n Installation was a little tricky, because I was working in such a th small space, the doorway was barely large enough to install any expansions. Tip: keep the zip ties on the gate until you are finished installing the door to keep it from swinging back and forth. READ all the directions before you start, it will save you a lot of time.What I love about the gate: You can install it with base boards and walls, it adjusts. It swings both ways, it can stay open in either direction once pushed past 90 degrees, it automatically locks so the dogs cannot escape if one of our kids leaves it open. All 3 of my kids can open the gate without help (once they practiced and where shown how to do it). You only need one hand free to open it, It can be locked if you were using it to keep toddlers out, the gate is fairly light which helps over time it stays put. Many of the other gates we have tried are sooo heavy and they come loose quickly, this one stays put. I did purchased extra wall savers to protect my wall and base boards, but it does come with some, I just wanted the extra cushion/protection. This is the best pet gate we have come across. I need another one for a large doorway, need to contact the company to see if they make one for larger spaces.

After my dog chewed the wooden bars of a more decorative gate, I opted for an all metal one. Not sure why some complained about installing it. It literally took me 5 minutes to get it up. The arch dresses the gate up. I also like the options for opening the gate. I have it set up where you just lift the gate and swing open. It also stays open and automatically closes. Highly recommend.

It was a little hard for me to install it because I don't usually install things but I'm sure I could do it again easily now. The only thing was one of the vertical bars at the end was bent. It was bent in a curved fashion so it kind of looks a little artsy and honestly I was just not into wrapping it back up and lugging it to town to ship it back. It works great! So much better than those plastic baby gates.

I appreciate the “upscale” look of this gate. It’s easy to use and easy to install. It did damage my wall a bit, but that’s because I tripped over it (our hallway was dark) and it slid against our painted wall. If you use it for a long length of time, you’ll likely have to readjust it (from all of the door opening/closing), but it’s super simple to adjust. I’d recommend it. But definitely check your measurements. It JUST fits our hallway opening, so be sure to measure your particular opening, as there’s not a lot of expansion.

Nice looking and well made gate. I have 2 very large dogs so we lifted it off the floor a bit. It stays on the wall with the stickers provided. I didn’t even have to screw anything into the wall! It also works on uneven brick.

I looked and looked for the perfect pet gate for my small dogs to go on the door frame of my laundry room where they stay at times. I wanted something that would open and shut and that you could walk through and this is perfect. It is not only effective for what I need it for but very attractive as well! I am very happy with this purchase!

Firstly, one of my dogs has repeatedly destroyed 3 previous gates of a different make - and he's pretty small. He would hurl his front feet at it and eventually the welds would give - usually if there were fireworks or thunder. The other three gates were white, and this one is dark brown - not sure if this has been a deterrent but he's not tried to get through and we've had plenty of storms and fireworks. Secondly, I like that the gate can be positioned to stay open in a fixed position - that it doesn't swing closed or wide open. Third, I like that the gate opens inwards or outwards - that's just more flexible when you're going through it from either side - important if either space is small (like a hallway). Only negative is that because the gate is dark, people don't always realize they have to step over the threshold because they don't notice it with my dark floors. So I put a piece of reflective tape on the threshold and that's solved the problem.

Very impressed with these gates. We close them when we leave our little dog at home and he is so happy that we no longer put him behind a closed door. The fact that they look great as well is a definite bonus!
