Mont MarteSignature Detail Brush Collection, 15 Piece, Taklon Bristles, Suitable for Acrylic, Oil, Watercolor and Gouache Paints, Includes Storage Bag

I really like Mont Marte products and have started painting again so I wanted some fresh supplies. I found these and while I don't do a ton of detailed artwork I decided to go ahead and get them. I used them for a flower painting I did last week and they worked very well. I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to using them some more. I would recommend these if you are an artist who does detailed artwork.

I am not an artist -- I just like to work on occasional craft projects, especially related to holiday decor. I have some ideas for Halloween decorations and I realized that I have been needing to replace some of my old paints and brushes for some time. I ran across this set that looked as if it would work out very well for me and was happy to have the opportunity to review them. There are quite a few paint brushes included in this set; in fact, I'm sure I really only need about half of them. They appear to be of decent quality, at least for my purposes, although I'm sure an actual artist would spend much more money on a single brush than this entire set...I like the shape of the handle, with a widened triangular region near the ferrule, which makes these brushes easy to hold and manipulate. All of the handles are uniform in length, which I didn't expect -- I am thinking this is why some of the brushes don't feel particularly well balanced. I would say that this is a good assortment of brushes with synthetic (taklon) bristles in varying styles and thicknesses and should be fine for any detailed work I might need them for. The brushes are lightweight and the ferrules seem securely attached to the handles. The bristles seem to be well anchored into the ferrules, but more than a few of the brushes have stray bristles that need to be trimmed before they can be used. I will just be using acrylic paints, so these brushes should work well for that medium. Each brush arrived enclosed in a plastic bag with the bristles protected by a plastic sleeve. There is a velvet pouch with a drawstring closure to store the brushes in and the whole thing fits in a small, round canister, so this might make a nice gift for a casual user like myself or someone just beginning to be interested in art. These aren't professional quality, but the price seems quite reasonable for a set of 15 brushes; keep in mind that these brushes are all designed for painting details on a small scale (tiny bristle heads) and might not be suitable if larger brushes or an all-purpose set of brushes is needed.

The packaging was great and these brushes are super nice quality so far in my usage of them with acrylic paint!!

The brushes are perfectly designed for the crafts and artworks that I do. Mont Marte makes the best products, including the paints that I have purchased as well. I'm always satisfied with the quality of the items that I have bought.

Two of the brushes were broken when they arrived. Brushes are pretty good for water color, okay for oil color. Overall not bad for the price.

The design of the handle makes these comfortable to hold and the variety of brush shapes make it easier to get it small areas

My gf needed something to paint her restored dolls and these were perfect. She loves the quality and the variety of sizes!!

I've been to art stores and could not find anything like some of the brushes in here. Some of the handles have unique grips and the hairs are delicate and fine. They are comfortable and help avoid the shakes when doing fine work. I hope they are long lasting. I will purchase again.

Believe me. It's fantastic. Craftsmanship is so good. It's steady and easy to work. I worked in oil medium.
