CHEFVANTAGE Salt and Pepper Shakers Set with Adjustable Holes - Stainless Steel

So far so good. I bought this to replace my salt shaker, whose rubber stopper got old and gave way twice, leaving a pile of salt on the cu9onter and everywhere. This shaker is easy to fill with salt, comfortable, lets you see toward the bottom when the salt is running low. I like the different types of openings you get by turning the top, and especially like being able to leave just 2-3 holes exposed. Extremely flexible. One thing I don't love is the salt kind of gathers on the plastic part with the holes, and gets crunched when turning the top. Not a big deal, but ideally wouldn't have that extra salt there. Overall, highly recommend the look, weight, and functionality.

Follow up (months later): I just wanted to update our previous review. We are still very happy with the salt and pepper shakers. They work great and look nice. What prompts me to add this is the GREAT FOLLOW-UP SERVICE we received from the Amazon vendor (MB Lifestyle). We dropped one of our shakers onto a cast iron grill and broke the glass part of the shaker. Totally our fault - any glass shaker would likely have broken under the circumstances (these are actually made of pretty thick glass). Anyway, I emailed the vendor to see if we could purchase a replacement glass container, and to my surprise, they offered to send us a replacement glass container, plus an additional complete shaker, at no cost to us. This was really well beyond what we expected - we would have been happy just to have been able to purchase a replacement for the part we broke (the rest of the shaker was still good as new). We received the free replacements quickly. The replacement glass was just like the original, and the extra shaker is handy and gives us a backup in case we break another one (which is very unlikely). Anyway, I just wanted to let potential purchasers know that that not only is this a good product, but the people at MB Lifestyle really care about their customers and provide outstanding service.Original Review: They are nice and we like them. There aren't as many options on the size/number of holes as I expected, but the ones they have work fine. Our old shakers were always either too fast, or too slow - but these have settings that dispense both salt and pepper at just the right rate for table use. They also look nice and are a handy size (not too large or too small). I took them apart to wash everything before we used them (probably unnecessary, since they were well packaged and looked very clean). These do come apart into quite a few pieces and I was a little concerned that they might jam or be diffitult ot get back together, but that hasn't been a problem. We like them.

Finally! The salt & pepper shaker set that fills every expectation for our household. They're quite large without being overly huge so they work both near the stove or on table top. There's a (much appreciated by us) adjustable top that includes certain areas for full closure, full open, average size holes and then an area with Large size hole openings. The clear bottom allows the visual for when to refill. The color choices are quite sufficient but they're so useful that I'd like to see additional ones. If they ever go on sale to better accommodate my budget, my intentions are to put them to use in multiple other ways. This is the first set to impress me with both quality and full utility features. I can definitely see using them for other seasonings or spices, even craft applications. These seem to have been designed with thorough thought being given to the consumer. Not many products meet expectations as this one does.

These are very nice, well built shakers. I like the fact that you can see at the bottom when the salt and pepper gets low through the clear plastic. They are adjustable so you can put fine or course ground salt and pepper in them with no problems. There is one small issue that I have with them. They use a screw on cap with a built in rotation adjuster for fine or course ingredients. You screw the cap on tight, then rotate the top of the cap to close, rotate to fine and rotate further to course. I find that sometimes when rotating the adjuster it causes the entire cap to rotate with it which partially unscrews the cap from the base. In fact instead of adjusting it is unscrewing. To correct this just screw the cap back on tight. An improvement in design would be to have a cap that locks in place with a tab of sorts which would then eliminate cap slippage when adjusting from close to fine to course. This is the only issue with a very nice salt and pepper set. It is minor but the design improvement would make them perfect. I might add that when closed they are pretty air tight so pepper should stay fresh in them.UPDATEWith continued use I can say these are the best shakers I have ever used. They seal tight and keep the product fresh. There also is no more slippage of the lid when adjusting from fine to course to pour. They are well constructed and very nice to look at. Add great functionality and you have a three way win.
