This is a one two-ounce bottle.

Q: Can this be used like eyedrops without contact lenses?

I do not think that is what you are to use it for. I would not. The solution removes protein and dirt from your lenses. It is a cleaner not an eye drop. If you need something to assist in the dryness of your eyes the safest thing would be an artificial tear solution.

Q: How often do you have to switch out the solution in your contact case?

I always use fresh solution every time I have my contacts in the case. So I take my contacts out every night, put them in the solution, and in the morning that solution is discarded. I would never recommend using the same solution unless you are storing your contacts long-term without wearing them--and even then I'd likely change it out every few days.
