Can't Beat the Price
If you're looking at dumbbell racks, you've noticed how expensive they can be. This rack is a solid choice for space efficiency and is very reasonably priced. I've had two of these racks. The first one I sold with a set of cast iron dumbbells when I decided to cross over to Power Blocks. Well, the Power Blocks are nice, but IMO they can't fully replace good old fashioned dumbbells. So I decided to invest in an upgraded set of rubber coated hex dumbbells and needed another rack. It had been several years since I bought the first rack and I was really happy to see it was still available here on Amazon. Not much has changed. The plastic protectors no longer come with the rack. They were a nice detail, but the rack functions well without them. My only other small gripe is with the bolts. They require a large flat head screw driver. I would have much preferred bolts that could be turned with a hex key, or at the very least, a Phillips head screw driver. You will have to supply the assembly tools. Taking price into consideration, I couldn't justify knocking off a star for those minor quibbles. One other thing to note, I believe a 40 lb. dumbbell is the size limit for this rack. If you have larger dumbbells, and/or space isn't as much of a consideration, you may want to consider the Marcy three tier dumbbell rack that is also available on Amazon. I've had this rack as well and can report that it's an excellent choice for a horizontal rack.

Works great: small footprint, sturdy, and good customer service!
This works very well for us. We have a range of rubber-coated dumbbells up to 35 pounds, and they fit on the rack without bumping each other. The floor footprint is very small, which is perfect for our small workout space, and the rack is sturdy.Assembly was pretty easy: you need a wrench and a flathead screwdriver and a bit of patience. deep sockets or a wrench extension might work better than what I used, and as others mentioned (and documented in the instructions), I had to pull the second side to get it to line up.As others have mentioned, it didn't come with the plastic protectors in the box. After contacting them through the Amazon website, a full set of them arrived in the mail, and they were easy to install. They're only kept on by friction, and they might pop off in use. Glue might help. The protectors are molded with a hole for possible bolting into place, but the rack doesn't have holes for that so you'd have to drill/tap and buy bolts to make that happen.

Solid, sturdy and space saving, but needs better quality paint job.
I read the reviews and was convinced of its sturdiness - which was validated upon receipt. I've got it loaded with 40lbs on down to 10lbs and you'd have to really intend and try hard to knock it over. Not *impossible* but not likely by accident, either. I, too, put it in a corner so its not like its sitting in the middle of a busy area. Assembly was a little tricky only because you have to really bend the upright portion so the holes align - took a helper to insert screws while I wrestled the holes into alignment. Lastly, and by biggest problem, is that the paint was flaking off just in getting it out of the box and assembled. No doubt it will come off easily when using with metal dumbells (wish you could get grommets for the notches), but I was disappointed to see the very top area (corners, specifically) have paint come off just during the assembly process (you need to invert the stand to mount the base, as the screws go in through the base bottom into the upright section). Space-saving design is what sold me so that was evident from picture.

Affordable, but not very practical.
I was very excited to have found this rack because everything workout related is either sold out or super expensive but that wasn’t the case with this rack. I really loved the idea of my weights being vertical versus horizontal to save space and needless to say that the rack proved sturdy enough to hold weights from 8lbs to 40lbs.One problem I encountered right away, and it’s the reason for my 3 stars is because as the weights increase it becomes so difficult to lift off their slot. I have 8, 10, and 15 in sequential order and the weights get stuck, anything heavier than that and it’s just imposible to access without removing the top weights first. The rack doesn’t seem to offer much space for ease of access. The order of the weights doesn’t affect much, however putting anything heavy in the top will cause the rack to probably collapse. In addition, the rack came with protective plastic covers and these come off very easily when removing the weights from their slot. All in all I don’t recommend this item if you’re using weights of different sizes as they will get stuck, also consider that the return policy will have you pay to return this absolute impractical rack.

Great rack!
Quality material and nice size! This rack is definitely meant for the chrome dumbbells as the handles on the silicone ones are too thick for the rack. I was starting a collection of the silicone dumbbells, but then after setting up this rack, I returned the silicone ones and purchased the chrome dumbbells. I don't have much space, so this has worked perfectly for me. I'm not sure if this 8 pair rack is still available on Amazon (I only see the 6 pair rack now), but I would definitely recommend this brand and this product. No complaints at all!

Meh!
This rack is ok but with some caveats. It's probably my bad but I had planned to use this with a set of 5-50lb rubber coated hex dumbells, omitting the 5-10's and racking 15-50lb. That plan didn't pan out, rubber coated hex dumbbells above 40 are to big for this rack. That said the rack isn't advertised for that range. However even using 5-40lb dumbbells the spacing between each of dumbbell slots is to tight to be easily removed and re-racked. Many of the dumbbells need to pushed and prodded to removal them of get them back into their respective slots. Kind of a bummer. In the plus column its very well made and is a great space saver. If I had it to do over again I'd probably find the space and opt for a Troy two tier rack.
