Love having these! Much prefer Made in Germany vs China - can't beat the value
Love having these! Much prefer Made in Germany vs China - can't beat the value. Far better than the China pencils and even better than USA ones. The graphite lasts longer and the writing quality is great. Plus, these are made from recycled wood, so they're more ecofriendly.STAEDTLER makes tons of great products - their erasers (from Germany) are far superior to the pink Made in China ones.

Awesome pencil!
There is no eraser to break off or wear out before the pencil. Amazing paint coating, nice hand feel. Sharpen well. Write smoothly.

Great pencil. Not so great bulk packaging.
I've always wanted to try these pencils, being an avid consumer of Staedtler products and hearing how these are as ubiquitous in schools in Europe as our yellow #2 Ticonderogas. They're technically not sold by Staedtler North America as of this review, so, off I went to Amazon to buy some.If you're looking for a great writing pencil, you won't be disappointed with these, if you prefer a slightly harder HB than a Japanese or American pencil (but not scratchy). They also differ from most American pencils in that the standard Noris model (this one), has a lacquer dipped end cap like the Lumograph, or comparable Faber-Castell pencils (9000, Goldfaber), instead of a ferrule and eraser. It's more common in Europe, and easily is a non-issue if you have a block eraser like the Mars Plastic or Rasoplast lying around (as a designer, I have...plenty of them). The quality of manufacturing is the same as all the other Staedtler pencils made in Germany, which is to say well painted and foiled perfectly. The thing that knocked the review from 5 to 4 was in how the pencils were packaged. The listing says "Box of 36", as well as "3 boxes", which, makes you assume they are going to come in Staedtler's original packaging of 12. However, the seller I bought them from had actually placed them in a bulk package (taped paper bag). As a result, there was enough space in the bag for the pencils to rattle around during shipping, and about a quarter of them lost their pre-sharpened points. Hopefully the lead inside is still intact, otherwise I'll be editing my review further.

I love this pencil!
This is a great writing pencil, firm lead, maintains a really great point. I really love it and I like that it does not have an eraser on it so I can use a bigger one and not worry about using up one or the other before I am done with the pencil.

Very high quality
These are the best pencils I've ever used. They work very well in my classroom, and the fact that they have no eraser is a bonus, because the kids would rip the erasers off other pencils anyway, so they stay nice looking and work till they are a stub.

Classic pencil
These pencils are a classic. German craftsmanship and (in this particular offer) very inexpensive. Far superior to the average yellow pencil (the lead writes a lot smoother, and it never breaks). I have been using these pencils for decades (since I was a child) and they never disappointed.

Euro Pencils that are Different at School
My nieces love these pencils because they stand out at school - no one else there would have "European" pencils like these, and if there's one thing they like, it's being different than the rest (when it comes to stuff like this at least).
