Worth the Price
This is my favorite fish sauce. It has a very clean, intense flavor. You need to start with less in a recipe - it is very potent. Therefore, it lasts longer than other brands. I prefer this over the boat brand, but I buy both: it's kind of pricey to use in cooking, where the taste can get overwhelmed with other spices. I like to use this in dipping sauces where it's not hidden and the flavor really shines. I would recommend this as a gift to foodie friends - it comes beautifully packaged and, if someone likes fish sauce, this is a clear winner.

Best flavor of ANY fish sauce
Packaged in a very attractive box, making it a excellent gift for "Foodies."Flavor is the best I have had. (ahead of Red Boat which was my previous favorite) Not strong or overpowering, but vivid. I find I use much less for the desired flavor translating into less salt in the meal.I was pleasantly surprised at the great flavor. Not just marketing glitz, this is truly fine tasting.

Excellent quality and a lot of Umami.
You can taste the anchovies and being aged gives a deeper and more complex taste.I found myself using it on a lot of cooked food.A few drops on pizza, omelet, chili as you are making it…

Best fish sauce available in USA if you truly love fish sauce!!
I’ve previously reviewed this sauce—5 Stars, umami bomb, addictive, no fish flavor, better than Red Boat. But the last 2 bottles I bought a few months ago (Spring 2022) weren’t as good as previous months/years—it was still awesome, just not as awe inspiring. A bit dark and opaque and a bit bitter—but still pure and not fishy at all). They were on sale for less than the Suchi Lite (which I don’t rate as highly—contains sugar—tastes good, but definitely not an umami bomb like the regular Suchi—if you want “Lite” fish sauce, get the Som—which is good but not spectacular like this Suchi regular, but better than Suchi Lite which is clean but lite on flavor). Som is better than Red Boat 40N, but nowhere near as good as the Red Boat 50N). I see this Suchi regular 1st press is no longer on sale. Hooray! Maybe there was an aberration batch (subpar vintage?) that they dumped on sale on Amazon—perhaps subpar salt—who knows—but now perhaps Suchi is back—I hope so). Anyway, I bought some Red Boat 50N in June, because I was disappointed in the last 2 bottles of Suchi regular. It was only available on the Red Boat website and was a limited release. It was good, clean, pure, a bit oily, and I suspect taste experts would rate it higher than this Suchi 1st press. But I didn’t love it. I didn’t make excuses to drizzle it all over just about anything. It wasn’t Suchi! I still have one of the small bottles of the RB 50N that was available for limited sale on their website only. But, I haven’t unwrapped it. I liked it. I didn’t love it. I’m ordering 2 more bottles of Suchi—because I love it. And I want some!!

Great flavor and not the typical fishy smelling sauce
Little hesitant to buy a fish sauce due to cafeteria experiences with strong fish smells following microwave reheat of home cooked food. The fish sauces used in those reheated foods were inferior to this one, this is a high quality very good tasting sauce. Some of my favorite recipes called for fish sauce so searched out the best and decided upon this one. Upon first impression, I was very impressed and excited, after tasting and first/second use, decided this was my favorite, now can't live without and my goto fish sauce.

Great depth of flavor and tremendous quality!
We typically purchase Red Boat, or Thai Kitchen in a pinch, or thick anchovy paste-style sauce. This Suchi fish sauce has a deeper flavor and a seemingly higher concentration of anchovy within this sauce. The consistency is similar to Red Boat, but less watery than Thai Kitchen. It accompanies our sauces, soups, kimchi, and stir-fries very well; I have even used it in a casserole and it worked well as a flavor enhancer for the rest of the dish. I find myself using a little less of this in recipes than what I used of other brands, as it has stronger flavor. Note: the bottle arrives fuller than what is pictured; we used it a few times. Also, it comes exquisitely wrapped and packaged. Would definitely purchase this again.

FUNKY FISH
This stuff is POTENT. Do not expect to put it directly on anything as it will make it taste way too much like fermented fish. This is best used in small amounts to compliment other sauces. It adds that umami funk and goes greate with soy sauce and Rice Wine Vinegar. This bottle is huge and will last you a long time. They way over package it though.

Strong to the point of being sour.
This sauce is in no way for the faint of tongue. I’m honestly entirely unsure of a good recommend use for it. A half teaspoon full mixed into roughly two cups of soup was enough to make the soup almost sour. This dark fish sauce is not comparable to light fish sauce in any way save for the saltiness. This sauce is singularly suited to the person who desires an explicit aroma of fishiness that borders on hateful. And if you have facial hair you will need to rinse it after eating food with this sauce on it, unless you want to run around smelling of a sardine that has become friends with hot sunlight.
