Works as provide but needs a warning
Just a warning. I purchased product and when received it comes sealed in plastic. I did not think about it, probably my fault but do not place anywhere near your jewlery real or fake. I guessing the fumes permeated the plastic and corroded all my jewlery. Lots of cleaning some were okay some I had to toss as it Etched the metal both sterling silver and base metal costume jewlery. So now it's in ot own box and way from any metal. Lesson learned.

Worked great for me
Worked great, do educate yourself first. Hokes Precious Metal Refining from Wastes is a very very educational book, it's a great place to start. It's free in PDF form on Archive.orgI did see a few reviews stating the solution was old or ineffective, or the black stone isn't good to view. Or dirt on the bottles, which I found very little, but it's law they have to store it in this medium for safety.Honestly this is my first time using any acid solution to test gold or silver.I watched a few videos on it and then began testing various pieces I bought on eBay in huge Sterling jewelry lots, with a bit of practice I recognized what silver should behave like and then gold. It becomes very apparent the color silver creates, which is a bright blood red, pretty interesting :)Gold's a bit tougher but the scrape on the black stone is what you should be watching, rather it disolvees or not. Real gold will dissolve in only Aqua Regia, lower base metals disolve rapidly in the test solution while gold does not because chemically it cannot unless it's of a certain alloy (or metal mix) with low percentage/ karat of pure gold.So the person angry and demanding a white stone is kinda honestly ignorant, sorry. Also I say ignorant not as they're dumb, I mean it as in they're ignoring information that contributes to their perception and ability to comprehend it. They just don't know any better, instead of learning they attack someone else for their lack of knowledge. It is what it is.If they want a white stone though, I noticed if you flip the stone over and peel that rubber off it's white underneath. This solution is light sensitive keep out of the sun and daylight bulbs, store it in a dark cool place, and it will last a long while. However unless properly stored it degrades after a couple of weeks. The package was complete and sealed and had perfect instructions. It just comes down to knowing what to look at and watch out for and giving the acids a few moments to react. Also knowing how metals react to these acids; nitric and muriatic, is helpful to understand why or why not certain metals do or do not react.I found the stone to work fine but for most of the metals I was okay with just placing the drop right on the side of the piece as I'm going to be refining it later anyways. Make sure to file down to get passed any plated layers to the majority of the metal underneath. So thanks for a good product that is of good quality and does what it supposed to lol, as many of us know Amazon let's some weeds through a bit too often, even some sellers having high quality products, then once enough people give positive reviews they switch the product for a cheaper quality. This is seen in reviews from customers that have bought multiple times and mentions the quality going down greatly from their first purchase.

A nice kit
I wanted to use this kit to field test Gold potential finds but it does require scratching the surface (all like this do I believe). No fault of this product, just a learning curve for me.

Good customer service.
I had ordered this - the packaged arrived in excellent condition. Everything worked well except the 10k acid which failed against my test vile and known gold - I feared it may have been out of date. I contacted them regarding it and they IMMEDIATELY sent me a new vile (which worked perfectly) and a new white test stone! I will definitely purchase from them, again! 5 stars!

Mislabeled acids!
Despite the excellent customer service I received-- they sent out a new order when the first was delivered but not received--I basically can't use the product because of mislabeled testers. The silver tester label is slapped over a platinum tester label and is illegible from the two melting together (and such one is it, really?); the four gold testing solutions (10kt, 14kt, 18kt, and 24kt) are mislabeled so that I can't tell which is which, except the 24kt (labeled 14kt) because it smokes on contact with the test stone. If you need reliable results, this is not the product for you.

Easy to use, and accurate
This has been amazing! Many items I was just going to send off to donation have turned out to have been gold or silver (and since professionally verified)I had no idea some of the items I had been holding onto all of these years were actually treasures.
