EXTRAORDINARY VALUE, WONDERFUL SELLER
The saffron was marked as delivered, but was not here. I called Amazon, and they contacted the seller after my call, who immediately reached out to offer a refund. The next day, the saffron arrived. Communication was so fast and excellent, and the product is well-packaged. It is the best saffron I have found, and the best price. But the SELLER IS THE TREASURE HERE!

A Reasonably Priced Alternative To A Typically Expensive Food Spice - Saffron
# My ReviewThis review is for the Kabura Saffron, Authentic Afghanistan Saffron Threads. As someone who’s an avid food fan that likes to add exotic flavors to everything I cook, this recommendation was a pleasant find. I like experimenting with different herbs, spices, condiments, natural and organic food products, so I was curious by the flavor profiles I could get by using this brand’s saffron threads compared to the others I’ve tried. That said, when I saw this offering and the way in which it was packaged, produced, and delivered, I just knew it was worth a try.First of all, this saffron is packaged beautifully! I can’t say enough good things about how this product is packaged, delivered and presented. A+ is what I’d give it! The whole presentation screams quality and we haven’t even got to the saffron yet! It’s delivered in a presentation box with the Kabura branding; and inside is a styled tin with an elegant design and see-through window that lets you see the saffron threads up close. The tin is sealed and upon opening, there was a nice sweet & warm aroma that was a sign of good quality and freshness.Aside from the obvious use of saffron in cooking, it also has some health benefits which can be easily researched. I’ve typically cooked with saffron and mixed it in my hot drinks like milk and tea. As a food spice in cooking, I’ve used this in a number of different ways which has always delivered a nice warm, sweet and aromatic flavor profile! Typically, you should only use a little as too much can be overwhelming; that said, this wasn’t as strong as I’m used to and this brand’s saffron was very mild and more subtle in flavor.Overall, this is a decent saffron product that’s reasonably priced. I recommend.** Thanks for reading my review! Aromatic and Ethereal; Elite Quality & Affordability
Our family's obsession with homemade Bastani ("Persian Saffron Ice Cream") led us to these wonderful organic Kabura Saffron threads from Afghanistan, which offer unique points of differentiation among other Saffron products.Observations: (1) Terrific quality control, as the hand-harvested Saffron threads present themselves in a manner consistent with elite Saffron -- all proved to be a uniformed, rich, deep red, and fresh, with each thread unbroken. (2) Intensely aromatic in its tin, and dramatically more so when it met the heat of our stovetop ice cream base. (3) Saffron’s indescribable taste is wholly realized with these threads. Otherworldly. (4) With Saffron's reputation for being brutally expensive, Kabura's direct-from-their-farm product reduces consumer spend to the equivalent of $141.72/ounce; nowhere near the jaw-dropping $423.51/ounce price of competitors like Silk Road Saffron. That said, the ultimate judgment rests upon your taste buds. Buy with confidence. - (Was this of use? If so, let me know by clicking "Helpful." Cheers!)-BASTANI (“PERSIAN ICE CREAM”)Note: This recipe requires a commercial ice cream maker.Ingredients:• 1 tbsp saffron• 1 cup of cream• 1/3 cup of pistachios, shelled• 1.5 cups of milk• 3 tbsp of rosewater• 1/2 cup of sugar• 3 egg yolksPreparation:1. Add milk and sugar to an unheated saucepan and stir. Once the sugar is mostly integrated, add the cream, and heat the saucepan to a medium heat.2. Stir constantly until the sugar wholly dissolves – do not allow it to boil. Once the mixture is warm and fully smoothed out, remove the pan from heat.3. With a mortar or food processor, grind saffron into a powder.4. Add the ground saffron to the milk mixture. Add the rosewater and stir to integrate. Remove from heat until the mixture cools. Refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours, during which the flavors will meld together.5. Reheat the mixture on the stove on low heat, stirring constantly.6. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks, then very slowly add small amounts of the hot mixture to the egg yolks, little bits at a time. Return everything to the pan, and stir constantly over low heat for a couple minutes until the mixture thickly coats the back of your mixing spoon.7. Completely strain mixture, and refrigerate for another four hours, or overnight.8. Follow the directions of a commercial ice cream maker through to completion – you’ll likely be told to wait until the final 2-3 minutes of churning before adding the pistachios.

Chemical smell, less potent than Roland Saffron
The container had a chemical smell when I opened it and was considerably less potent than other saffron I have used. That said, it was also considerably less expensive. It was a uniformly vivid red, whereas the Italian saffron I have used in the past was more of a maroon and the color had more nuance. I wonder if it was dyed or if it is merely because it is a different variety.
