I chose this item because assembly was by use of an Allen key (supplied), rather than having to use a Phillips screwdriver - and this made it a lot easier to get the screws tightly fitted. If you would rather have a flat top than the places to put pens etc, just assemble it with the flat side of the main piece up. As usual you get an extra (seventh) screw... the instructions were simple, and the little stickers identifying each piece peeled off rather more easily than on some recent minor furniture products, I found. What's not to like?

Really nice to put minitor on, useful slits for pens, mp3 player, phone. Slightly rough finish so 4 stars ... but expected for the price

Nice smooth finish and easy to assemble. I didn’t need the cutouts in the top, so I put it together with the cutouts underneath. Takes up minimal room on my desk and raises the monitor so I can have my laptop in front without the laptop screen blocking the monitor. Laptop can slide under when not in use. Bamboo is also more eco-friendly than wood!

Came flat packed but only 3 pieces (top and sides). Sturdy screws provided (with 1 spare, nice to see) and took about 5 minutes to put together.I have a 27" monitor on top of it and can store headphones, notebook and some other bits below it. It has a phone stand which is only really useful if the monitor is higher up as the phone gets in the way otherwise.Overall - would definitely recommend. Looks more expensive than it is
