First of all, I bought these smart sockets because they were the only ones I could find with higher than 13 amp rating. Obviously, you can't draw more than 13 amp from a 13 amp socket, but the additional overhead of a 16 amp rating (which these have) means you can draw the full 13 amps without worrying that it is going to fry the smart socket. Also this higher rating provides for protection from normal switch on surge, if necessary.That said, I would have been pleased with these little units even if current wasn't a consideration. They are very small and compact and there is no problem mounting two side by side in a standard UK double socket, although they are not quite narrow enough to fit side by side in an unswitched power-stip. If you need to do that, though, a smart power stip is a better solution anyway.The sockets are fitted with a manual switch with indicator light, so if you have problems with your Wi-Fi, or if Alexa goes into sulk mode (which she does, from time to time) you can easily override and switch on or off manually. One nice feature here is that the button is slightly textured so when feeling for it, it is very easily detected; very useful for anyone with visual impairment or anyone who needs to switch on the light in the dark after Alexa has failed to do so (which she does from time to time).Set up was a breeze, I already had Smart Life installed and after following the first part of the instructions (with no problems) to register the new socket with the app, I got a pop-up from the Alexa app saying that she could now control the new socket. Total time taken: less than 5 minutes.All in all, I am very please with these smart sockets and all at a very reasonable price.

Followed instructions meticulously for both plugs 3 times! They won't link up to the 2.4Ghz channel on BT. On-line help sought form supplier but no reply.

These plugs are very good I have no brought a 3rd set. So easy to connect to my existing smart life app. Am really happy that I can control my lights from nowhere and never have to come to a dark house.

Easy to install with guides provided and reasonably priced. I can now turn my TV & lamp on and off with Alexa.

Works well. Value for money

Bought two of these last year. Works fine and had no real issues I until today when one of them stopped working and wouldn’t power on. Nothing I could do would fix it. Seems to be a quality issue

Impossible to get to work

Will not connect. Bought Teckin. Connects straight away. Don't buy.
