Its Okay.
I like the size, its not super huge but I can fit a lot in it. The extra buttbag is great to have too.Cons:-The inside of the shoulder straps is thin nylonIts softer, but I can imagine it wearing out or getting snagged and ripping pretty easily. Im going to be adding more fabric to the straps.-The small and medium compartments are separated by thin nylon.I'm not sure why they did this, because the large and medium compartments are separated by the thicker material the bag is made out of. This thinner separation is for sure going to rip if you put anything sorta sharp or that has hard corners in it. I'll be modifying this as well.- The hip strap is too long.Even with adjusting the hip strap all the way, it was too long. I had to remove one of the buckles to get it tighter, and even then its not very wide either. Its okay.-Some of the compartments are only single stitched. It is made in china...-No bladder pouch. Not that big of a deal.Pro's-It has a really nice shank that keeps the pack straight and a puncture board to keep things inside from poking you in the back.-The sternum strap has elastic on it, which is something I've never seen before, but I love it. Allows it to be tight and let your chest expand for breathing.-Rain flaps over the zippers-Lots of MOLLE, too much MOLLEOverall I'm not disappointed in the pack for $45 but I would have spent another $20 to get a little better construction and maybe some smaller pockets inside for storing smaller things. I wouldn't use this pack for any Rambo type action, as I'm sure it would get ripped apart. I'm used to Army assault packs and their ruggedness, and this pack isn't even in the same ballpark but I didn't expect it to be either. Its a good camping pack for sure. LOTS more room than I was expecting, comfortable to wear. You could fit a 24 pack in there no problem. If it turns out that its durable, I can see it becoming my favorite pack with some modifications.

Excellent budget backpack
I've a two backpack system going - one for hiking/outdoor survival and one for disaster/urban survival. This backpack is for scenario number two. Having worked disaster relief for the Red Cross i've seen the positive morale and health effects having small necessities available can make.Lets face it , many of the backpacks out there are WAY overpriced considering how much you really use them. Adding the word "tactical" to the description seems to justify adding $50 to the price. I wanted a backpack that was well made, reasonably priced, molle compliant, had rain flaps over all the zippers but wasn't overtly mall ninja in appearance. This pack fits the bill very well. It's covered with Molle so you can add any number of items to it. It has three compartments - (not so) small, medium and large. I'm using the (not so) small for first aid and rain ponchos, the medium for fire starting, food, water purification, toiletries, etc. and the large compartment for clothing. The detachable butt pack is an extra bonus to an already large capacity pack. I don't even know what I'm going to put in there yet. My green Swedish mora knife matches the backpacks color so well it almost disappears when strapped to the side, which I think is much better then having a big honking combat knife strapped to the front making people wonder if they need to shoot you before you get too close. The pack has a plastic interior semi "frame" which fits my back well and in combination with properly adjusted straps make it comfortable to wear.I like this pack a lot and think it's a good value.

Decent quality pack at a bargain price!
This is a great little pack for the price. I've done several overnight and weekend outings with it and it's held up fine so far. There was room to spare and I didn't even bring the detachable bottom pouch. The fabric and materials are fairly durable, stitching looks good, and the seams/zippers are holding up fine so far. The MOLLE webbing and compression straps are useful for customizing your load. I added a couple canteen pouches to the sides. All in all, it is more pack than I was expecting from such a small price tag.The padding against your back is great... well designed and airs well. However, I'm not sure I like the shoulder and hip padding all that much. I may eventually add some heavier padding, especially on the hip belt. That's just my own issue as I often carry small (compact), but fairly heavy loads. The existing pads are absolutely fine for lighter loads.

Winner winner!!!
Overall seems to be good material, good stitching, good zippers. I like that there is a metal strip that goes down the center of the pack (Still comfortable) hidden in its own lil pocket, can be removed if you want. Helps keep the pack ridged. Comfortable shoulder straps. Lots of versatility to it. Extra adjustable straps on both sides, along with top and bottom. I would say only drawback would be sternum strap. Sternum strap won't tighten up anymore and it is still pretty loose. I'm broad chested and I was hoping the strap would pull shoulder straps a lil more, I can fix that with a little sewing though. I'm using the pack as a BOB and I've been able to fit good majority of my stuff in it with some room to spare. I did quite a few days researching, packs, prices, etc. etc. and this one was picked. Very pleased!!!

Good travel/camping bag
This backpack was much larger than i had anticipated. i was thinking it would be something i could use for school as well as the trail, but it is much too large for school, and even too big for day trips. i find that i can carry everything i need for at least 2 days of camping in here. it seems very well built, and it actually quite customizable. It has LOTS of compartments, and everything has its place for my gear. it is not lightweight by any means, but not so much that it truly bothers me. the color is a true military desert tan. it has a waterproof lining, but rivited holes on the bottom of the bag. this works great for me as a bag to pack and go, and know that Ill have everything I might need and then some.

Happy with my purchase
Bought it for my bug out bag, and it worked out pretty well. Was able to fit most of the needed stuff for emergency.Lots of space and MOLLE to work with. Could have gotten a better bag but for the price of this and what I was able to fit into it.I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

Poor first impression but overall a recommended backpack.
Manufacturers have only one chance to create that good first impression and when I received this pack I was impressed with the build quality and size. It's a nice large pack that's good for daily commuting and also weekend or multi-day trips. The reason I gave only three stars is when I unpacked the bag from its typically excellent Amazon shipping box and opened the main compartment, one of the zipper pulls came off. Disappointing yes. Fatal flaw? No. I'll write to Redrock and request a new zipper pull. They'll likely send it free of charge and I can make the repair. After that incident I checked the bag over completely and all looks good with properly stitched seams, etc. One would always wish a manufacturer to double check for flaws prior to shipping but its understandable that with outsourcing, quality control can sometimes be out of the hands of the front company. Irregardless I think I'll like this pack over an unnamed pack I purchased prior for half the price. It fell apart immediately. I didn't want to spend three times what I spent on the Redrock Diplomat because one should not have to pay hundreds of dollars for a bag for their stuff. Under a hundred is always good. Objectively the Redrock Diplomat has everything I'll need for years to come in one pack.

Excellent bag. Only reason I give four stars is ...
Excellent bag. Only reason I give four stars is because the lower front pouch gets squished by the upper front pouch and becomes rather difficult to access. I always have to lay my bag on its back to get into the lower pouch. Not the worst thing, but kind of irritating. Otherwise it os an excellent bag.

Not so rugged to me...
I really wanted to like this backpack. It does have a great design that has a multitude of pockets and attachment points. The butt pouch is a nice added feature. I wanted to use this as an emergency bag but because of its poor construction and poor material choice I ended up returning it. You can see seems stretching when you put any weight in it. The shoulder straps seemed like they would come apart after some light use. Like I said I wanted to like this backpack but because of the construction and poor materials I can't recommended this one at all.I know some people really liked it and it may have worked for them but if you want something super rugged look elsewhere.
