Van Gogh: A Retrospective

Honestly I really like and appreciate this Van Gogh book, I've seen other one's, for the price this one is worth it. The quality of the picture not the best but not so bad. It's a large book, so I enjoy staring at the big painting. Plus it has plenty of history and biography as well as letters that Vincent wrote.

This book compliments Steven Naifeh and Gregory White Smith's superbly written "Van Gogh: The Life," with its numerous illustrations of the artist's works. Also, I highly recommend it based on its own merit. Together both books afford the reader with an excellent introduction into the creative genius of Vincent Willem van Gogh's deplorable struggle for artistic recognition throughout his life.

The book is good, but I am very disappointed with the quality of the pictures.

This is a lovely book with a great deal of information about Van Gogh. I have been studying him and appreciate the context of this book.

The book was in perfect condition- I am happy I bought it from this seller- it was neatly packaged and arrived on time, the book was very detailed and the pictures in it were vibrant and representative of Van Gogh, something ever Van Gogh admirer should own.

Beautiful book with tons of pictures and lots of text. Someday I'll make it to the very end but for now it has been a lazy and enjoyable slow cruise through it.

Without question a must have for the Vincent enthusiast. The letters from those who lived at that time to witness His transformation of how and what we see, are extra-ordinarily real, and may bring tears of joy and appreciation to the reader. The repos are beyond museum quality- WOW!!!
