Hammerhead Combo vs Cheaper Brand "All Metal" Showerhead Combo
Having bought and returned two lower-cost "all-metal" showerhead combos due to damage, I went ahead and purchased the Hammerhead combo. Luckily, I still had one of the cheaper ones that I didn't return, and noticed some pretty significant differences between the two and decided to do a quick comparison to see what could justify the significant cost difference between Hammerhead and the lower-cost brand. After weighing the components separately, its clear that Hammerhead uses much sturdier gauge SUS304 steel for their parts vs the cheaper brand, who also claims to use SUS304. See photos for details. Their rain-shower head alone is nearly twice the weight of the other brand. Knocking on the rain-shower heads, it is even more clear that the cheaper brand uses much thinner gauge steel as you get a noticeably hollower sound when knocking on it as compared to the Hammerhead. Reviews can only upload one video, and unfortunately I recorded each unit separately so I didn't upload either one as it wouldn't be fair.Other notes:1. I like how Hammerhead packages their Teflon tape. Less plastic waste, easier to dispense, and just the right amount. Genius.2. Pressure is not great with the Hammerhead. If I try to use the combo output, the rain-shower struggles to push water through all the nozzles. I'm not sure if this is due to my building having low pressure overall (the old showerhead was just a large rain-shower head pointed straight down).3. For those with shower arms that come straight out of the wall to a 90* downward angle, this showerhead combo *is* workable, but it's not ideal. See my installed photo. A little more range of motion at the rain-shower head would have been helpful.4. Hammerhead's packaging is much better than the cheaper brand's, which (along with the thicker gauge steel) is probably why theirs had no damage, while both units of the cheaper ones were damaged. Is Hammerhead's worth ~1/3rd more than the few other "all-metal" choices on the market? Maybe for some. For me, not really but I got tired of receiving damaged, cheaply packaged products so I decided to splurge for a sure thing. I have no doubt this will hold up over time. The cheaper brand may, but I'll never find out.

For Tall Folks!
The shower head was easy to install but the switches to control the individual heads are at the very top. I was unable to use it safely so I installed in my guest bathroom and bought one with lower controls for me.

Real metal and effective
The only reason that I'm giving it three stars instead of five is that the rubber grommets on the handheld shower head fell off within the first 30 days of use. I ordered the multi function handheld shower head to replace it with and haven't had any problems. I recommend using tweezers to pull the flow restrictors out of both shower heads if you don't get good flows. You will use more water but you will notice a big improvement with the rain shower head. If you're trying to conserve water then don't buy a rain shower head. You will be disappointed in the lack of pressure with the factory flow restrictors in it, but when you remove them you will notice the water consumption go up. This is not an issue for me because I have a well and more groundwater than I know what to do with (sometimes too much!)

Remove the limiter
Installed the rain plus handheld. Not great water pressure. After I removed the limiters on both, it did improve a little bit on the rain head but not much (it must be the design, no dome area to build up the pressure consistently) but the handheld is a big improvement. The rain head probably works very well if you have a ceiling pipe or a 45 degree coming out from the wall. With the standard angled wall pipe, unless you point it down, you’ll probably be disappointed with the output if you like a high pressure shower. I definitely recommend the wand if you remove the limiter first, the rain head is ok. The materials are quality and the finish/look of it is beautiful.

I love this shower set up!
I had an old handheld shower head that didn’t even fit into the shaft that came with it. After I installed this one, I’ve been enjoying the rainhead as well as the handheld. They can’t be used at the same time but they’re easily changed from one to the other. They also look good.
