exellent saw blade
this is an exellent saw blade. the bigger teeth cut insanely fast and both bigger teeth and smaller teeth leave a surprisingly smooth finish, and cut very smoothly. though unless you are a woodworker or have the means of making a handle, i recomend you buy a handle because it"s tricky to firmly attach the blade to the handle. overall though, the best saw blade i have ever used, and it will probably be the most used saw in my shop.

Inferior quality and cut.
Blades are much thicker then standard pull saw blade, this results in a more difficult cutting action.Multiple individual teeth are not in line with other teeth on corresponding side, this results in rough cuts, binding and scratching the reference surface when flush cutting.Blades are coated in a thin "plastic", may keep the blade shining longer and mask the quality of the steel but this degrades the cutting performance.Suitable for rough cuts but not for detail or finish cuts.Would not purchase again.

Buy this and make your own handle
Best price around. The fact that it has two different blades is my favorite part

This blade is not made in Japan!!!! It's from China. Big difference.
It's advertised as a Japanese saw blade but right on the package it says "made in China". So I was skeptical because I use my Japanese made saw all the time and I know what it can do. The reason I had to replace my blade is because many of the teeth are broken off. That's how much I use it.The blade is much thicker than my original pull saw blade, this results in a more difficult pulling/cutting action. The individual teeth are not all in perfect alinement, this results in rougher cuts. I found this to cause binding and scratching the surface when trying to do a really fine, flush cut. Like make dovetail joints. The blades was coated in a thin anti-rust coating of some kind. This only helps to cause the binding I mention above. My original blade was bare steel. It had a little surface rust but still cut really well. Who cares about a shiny blade when any woodworker knows after several uses the blade will get that used woody patina look anyway. This coating only serves to mask the quality of the steel and degrade the cutting performance.I'de use this only for rough cuts but not for detail or finish cuts.Because its advertised as a Japanese made blade but it's not I'm returning mine and buy the real deal. Would not purchase again or recommend unless you're just cutting PVC pipe with it.

I will try to explain it better
I made several cuts with this and understood immediately what this saw is good for. It's a secret ninja weapon!Well sort of but anyway, the cut rate is extreme and easily controlled in vicious power or delicate carving. I still found I needed to score any wood I cut regardless of which side of the saw I used and what type of wood it was. I was able to rip wood in a straight line free of previous steps, but decided to take 2-5 seconds to score things. You don't use this saw by drawing a line, one eye it and push-pull like an American saw for a straight construction cut. It's intended for articulation in your cuts, sketching motions for a free-hand sculpt, bending with both hands for curvature and so forth.Simply rationalized because you are pulling rather than pushing, the tearing principle of force vs ripping can be inserted. I installed mine on a wooden handle off a plumbing device I prefer not to name, with a 1/4" bolt, some washers, lock washer and coupling nut. The giant nut allows you to grip it with your index finger and truly take this saw to it's depth in potential. Grab the top with the index grip, and you have fantastic articulation for pure artistry.I guess this is why people rave about them, but honestly when it comes down to it, I liked what I saw and I wanted a cheap hand saw for a cumbersome project ATM.In it's simplicity, it's just a thin piece of moderate quality tool steel shaped like an all American butter knife, and this appears to have a ripping side and a finishing side, so I wrote an R and F on both sides of each respectively. If I need a straight-line cut by hand many times, I'm grabbing an electric or western hand saw.If it's there and those are not, which will happen often as it spends more time with me, I will sketch a score line with it then mince through it like it's a dehydrated brick of rice.It cuts with no mercy.

Great blade, bought 2, but the first is lasting much longer than I thought
Excellent quality, I use it to cut PVC plumbing, so it stays fairly sharp. It will rust if left exposed to elements, I spray with light WD40 and wipe it off.I like it more then other PVC (lennox) saw blades because it gives 2 options, quick cut or controlled cut, and minimal loss of material for the cut itself. Blade is much more sturdy than the original that came on the handle, it hasn't bent and cuts very straight. Leaves almost no burs to clean off before gluing the fitting.Very light blade, allows me to get better measured lengths and leave less of a mess of shavings behind.
