Simone Biles: Superstar of Gymnastics: GymnStars Volume 6

I ordered this book for a 10 year old competitive gymnast who idolized Simone Biles. It is part of a series, so I also ordered the Aly Raisman book because that is her second favorite gymnast. While it isn't super long, still 100+ pages but she is a fast reader, she absolutely loved it! Within the same day she received it she came and told me to sit down so she could tell me about it. Not only did she read this one fast, she almost memorized every little fact mentioned and was super excited to share! She has been following Simone for a while and I am glad she has, because what a great athlete to look up to! She always has a silly giggle, and is always smiling and so very positive. We all enjoy watching her compete, such a little powerhouse and so graceful. I plan on reading this as well just because she was so excited about it and that way we can talk about it a little more in depth. Simone comes from a bit of a rough childhood background which I can easily relate to and she has chosen to get past it and it made her stronger instead of shutting down or going down the wrong path. She chose to turn it into a positive instead of a negative, and that alone is impressive enough for me! She also mentions talking to a sports psychologist in the book, I was informed but will read myself shortly, which inspired her. I recommend this book for any gymnast, whether competitive or not. Not all about gymnastics, there is other morals to learn as well from the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes gymnastics or women’s gymnastics and the gymnastics Olympics. Great age range

I bought this for our school library, because we have a lot of girls interested in gymnastics. I should have been tipped off that this wasn't a traditional trade book, because it's only offered in paperback. It is a short book, 64 pages (not 100+ like a previous reviewer stated). There are a couple of pages per chapter, with black and white photographs (some of them look very cut-and-paste from the internet). There are some links about Biles in the back, which is nice. Overall, not pleased with the format, since there isn't even a title/author printed on the spine. Not sure I'll be able to use this one in the library after all. I'll probably have to give it away, which is a shame after spending $10. Not a professionally printed book at all.

Eh. I bought it for my 9 year old child. One HUGE inventory control issue is that HALF of the book was cut wrong so those pages are about an inch shorter than other pages. It didnt cut off much except title and headers on the page ( the story words werent cut off) so I didnt bother to return it. For the price this was an ok book. It is VERY VERY simple. The pictures are terrible. Everything is black and white. It was not inviting for the reader at all It looks like a kid wrote the book. I will NOT be buying any more of this series. Im not returning it simply because I paid next to nothing for it. Next time I order a book I will opt for the much higher quality, higher priced Gabby Douglas book. I would NOT recommend this book. Pick a different one by a different author.

was really disappointed with this book, it literally has a few pages. not worth the money. Would rather have paid more money and got a better book.
