Too Small
I got these and I was very excited to get a replacement hiking boot. These are high rated. Unfortunately these were too small. I ordered my normal shoe size, but for me that varies depending on what I'm wearing. Most of my boots are size 13, my Red Wing boots are size 14, most of my dress shoes and gym shoes are size 13, my Nike sneakers are size 14, Brands differ on the size I need. I gambled that a 13 would fit me, but it didn't fit. Too small. So I returned them, but Amazon didn't have a size 14, so I had to order direct from Merrell. Paid a lot more. These boots looked really nice, looked well made, looked very comfortable. They are very light weight compared to my Red Wing boots. Wish they would have fit! I went hiking in Red River Gorge and wore my heavy Red Wings again. Looking forward to my next hike and wearing my new light weight Merrell boots.

Another great Merrell product for a long, wet hike
The media could not be loaded. I am a woman with big feet. Women's boots do not fit me well. I have been a fan of Merrell Moab Ventilators for more than a decade - I currently have a pair of mid-highs and low tops, which serve me well. I buy them in a men's size which comfortably fit my feet.I am not a fan of waterproof boots! I can't imagine walking miles and miles with moist feet. My Ventilators get wet but dry very fast so have never been a problem in wet, muddy weather.I had a long walk ahead of me - the Camino de Santiago de Campostelle in Spain but I feared that my good ol' Ventilators might not last the hundreds of miles. When these boots came on sale, I decided to give them a try. They were Merrells, which gave me confidence. They were a different color from my Ventilators so I would be able to tell these waterproofs from my other Merrells, also! These boots exceeded my expectations from day one. They fit very comfortably, even with the layers of socks I use to prevent blisters. They were water resistant, although not totally waterproof, which meant that, even in the worst downpours, of which there were MANY, on rocky, muddy trails, my feet were only slightly moist and the boots dried overnight. They did not show any wear and tear, and the Vibram soles did not slip (yes, I used hiking poles). They fit well, were breathable, yet kept my feet relatively dry under the worst conditions (the video does not do them justice). I still love my Ventilators and will use them until they wear out but these were a good investment for the rugged use I put them through.

Wide and Waterproof
Finally a hiking shoe that is wide in the toe box. This 2E size 9 is wider than many other name brands. Also lots of room in the instep for my high arches. Required no break-in time, they felt comfortable out of the box. Wore them for an entire weekend of camping immediately after receiving them. One night was raining steadily, while wearing a rain suit and walking around the campsite for hours, these kept my feet dry. Probably have about 10 miles on them so far, can't find any faults other than they can be a little hot in warmer weather.

Seems to be a good shoe.
I just received them today, tried them on. Typically I wear a size 11 boot/shoe, and these seem to be just a little too big, but not big enough to cause any problems such as blisters like other boots I’ve worn in the past. They are a bit narrow, but I’m sure they will stretch. I have pronation in both feet (I tend to walk on outside of feet naturally) and most shoes wear our very quickly. These feel nice and firm, and help to correct. I’ll update after I’ve work these for a while to note on durability.

I do be likin these shoes tho
This things can take a massive beating. Had em a year now, only shoes I wear, often walk 5 miles home from work for the fresh air and these HOLD UP. Last pair I had actually was about dead around the one year mark, which is odd, but my current pair is better than I had hoped.Order them a half size larger than normal I suggest, they're too small if you don't.

Love fit and comfort of Merrell
Gave my husband a pair of Merrell shoes a few years ago to have something other than tennis shoes to wear with casual pants/ jeans. He refused to wear them for nearly a year. Once he decided to try them, he was sold. He loves their style and especially the comfort.I recently bought him hiking boots, then forgot that I did and bought these. Now he won’t wear the others because these are so much more comfortable.

So Far, So Good
Nothing's perfect. So when I tell you these are "ok", it means they are better then expected, and good enough for me. BUT, adjust your expectations, because so much of what is sold today is absolute CRAP. So these are significantly better then CRAP, but who knows for how long ? I figure if I get at least a year out of them, I'm doing alright. ***You may need to replace the insoles because the arch is fully supported and it's annoying IF you are "flat-footed".

Great walking boots that age well
I'm on my second pair of Merrell Moabs. The first are multiple years old and the heals are partially worn through, but they are still serviceable and comfortable. They are so comfy that I use them anytime I need to walk a significant distance, the older pair for walking my canine friend Bonnie, and the newer pair for walking with my human friends on hard surfaces.

Great pair of hiking boots
First of all I’d like to state that I look in depth when shopping for expensive items. My shoe size is UK10, but when wearing boots I take a UK11.These boots cover my ankles which gives added support where needed. I bought these specifically for walking and mainly Metal Detecting. When spending 6-7 hours on my feet I thought it was important to find a pair of hiking boots that give the support under my feet. So many cheaper boots I bought seem to ok, but they leave my feet painful and aching.I already have a pair of Merrill training shoes, and Merrill Sandle’s, so when I looked at all the different boots I came to the decision that buying Merrill Hiking boots was a no brainier, even though very expensive.I’ve previously bought boots from the following shops, TKMaxx, The Factory Shop, and the camping shop. each of those boots lasted about 6-8 months before I had to throw them away because they wore away, tore at the sides of the boots.I would suggest that you don’t buy cheap because they don’t last. I would recommend these hiking boots.

Long lasting ergonomic
I walk A LOT on both pavement and woodland terrain for up to 10 hours and do it frequently and this is currently the only brand i can trust to not become mushy or fall apart. The sole is very supportive for a very long usage, it will not move around, become detached or let go of the surface cloth like other shoes always do with wear. I have kicked chunks of ice, bonfire logs, rocks, scraped the shoes on forest wood and the stitching and whatever glue holds up. The suede-ish finish feels very nice to the touch and cleans off surprisingly easy for a textured surface. The rubber on the bottom of the shoe takes much longer to wear down than other brands. I am on my 3rd pair of MOAB hiking boots, 2nd pair of running shoes and 1st pair of insulated boots from Merrel and all are impressive in terms of support and durability. The shoelaces are back to being the good kind now, my last MOABs had unacceptable shoelaces and now they switched back to the more durable ones that also don't come undone. The only thing peculiar I ever noticed about the newer MOAB boots compared to the style about 5 years ago is that the toe now has mesh directly on the top which lets more water in during rain or even being kicked up from a wet ground. The older style had a strip of leather straight down the middle with mesh on the sides and the old toe style kept my feet notably drier. Still the best shoe brand for heavy walkers and hikers so far

Very comfortable but not so breathable... wet feet
2nd day wearing these shoes. Very comfortable right out of the box, just as the advertising said... I can't tell about the waterproofing as I didn't face any water, but the are definitely not as breathable as I expected. My feet were wet as the photo shoes but the outside of the boot is still very dry. Moisture definitely comes from the inside... I usually don't sweat much from the feet, but apparently these shoes makes it different. It is very expensive at 171CAD$ for a boot that is just as regular as any other boot.120$ would be a fair price for these hiking boots.

Front started to peel in first week of use.
I was really enjoying these boots during my week-long Algonquin park trip this past week. They are comfortable and light and are easy on the eyes. Alas, as you can see in the picture, I was horrified to see that in this first outing they the front of it is already peeling away. Don’t even know how it happened. Yikes!
