This is exactly the drawing board I wanted, with no metal edge and high quality wood like I've used for decades! Perfect and sized right, I wanted a small-ish 16" x 20" one for use in certain cramped locations or for portability. Bonus was buying from Amazon Warehouse Deals (seller) in perfect new condition for less cost!

Be advised that this is essentially a sponge with a thin wooden veneer coating. It's not going to take a pounding at all or even a lot of pen pressure; and do NOT use a compass with it. The needle will pierce the veneer like a slice of American cheese. However, it's suitable for the light duty I'll be using it for...initial comic page bordering, but for serious drafting or drawing, I don't think it will last long. If you give the board a gentle squeeze, you can actually hear the foam creaking inside. Apply any kind of pen or pencil pressure to a single sheet of paper, and it will leave a permanent impression on the surface, if not puncture it. I would definitely go with a solid wood board or a melamine finished board for serious hardcore drafting or drawing.

Perfect size--exactly what I expected it to be. Other boards from other businesses are not the same. The only advice I would give to the company is this: Use a less sticky tape to hold the paper that describes this item. It's a bit lighter than a board I have used for forty years, so I hope it lasts as long. The board arrived as scheduled. Packaging could've been better because when it arrived the box was crushed on both ends. Thankfully the board is fine, without adequate protection inside the box.

This company, whoever shipped it, sucks. They took WAY too long to ship it when I have Prime, then it takes 3 weeks to get to me, way past the delivery date.And the product itself? Feels cheap. Chintzy. And to top it all off, I pay extra for the metal-edged version and come to find out it's only on 2 sides.....the short sides! I'd return it, but I'm 6 miles from the post office. Will never order anything from Helix again. EVER. Awful company.

When I lifted the package after it was delivered, I thought they forgot to put the board in the box, that's how light it is. I have had no issues with it yet, it is flat with no give in the center (I thought it might be hollow), the sides are square with metal. I have nothing but good things to say about this drawing board.

It really is super lightweight. I wouldn't chance cutting anything on it. It seems like a product that will last if you treat it right and will break quickly it you don't.As a student with a lot of drafting supplies to tote around along with my normal class supplies this was a godsend to my back pain.
