I have this adorable border collie and she's super picky with her chew toys, usually turns her nose up at anything that's not food. So, bully sticks are our go-to because they last long and don't cost a fortune. But here's the thing – she likes to gulp down the last couple of inches, which had me seriously worried.Then I found this stick holder from SafetyChew, and guess what? It's got this pin that locks the stick in place. There's no way my baby girl can pull it out (trust me, she's tried to get the last 1 inch… and failed lol) But I lost the pin when we were at the pet hotel during the holiday trip. The hotel folks thought she might've eaten it. I was like, "No way!" because the design's really secure. I’ve even left her alone with it, keeping an eye through a baby cam, and it’s been all good, no choking hazards at all.I reached out to SafetyChew on Facebook about the lost pin, and their response blew me away. Not only did they ship me two replacement pins, but they also threw in a free 6-inch bully stick! Talk about customer care!And here's a little tip: they've got this "SafetyChew+" model with a larger hole, exclusive to their website. Wish I'd seen that one first!In short, SafetyChew has won me over – both with their top-tier product and their outstanding customer service. My dog is obsessed with their stuff, and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend them to all pet parents out there!

Third Update 6/28/23: We've now had this item for 10 months. The first picture was after 2 months, the second at 6 months and now at 10 months. It's quite a bit more chewed up now but still holds the bully sticks in perfectly. I have been buying 4-5 inch sticks on Amazon and drilling my own holes in the end. Such a great product. Dozer (my Bulldog) comes in my home office every afternoon about 5 looking for his daily "stick". Updated Review. 10/24/22 We've had this product for 2 months. I give my 22 month old, 64 pound English Bulldog a 4-5 inch Bully stick every evening. He will chew on it for 30 - 45 minutes before he finally stretches it out enough to tear it apart and swallow the now, very mushy stick. No fear of choking. He continues to lick and chew on what is left for a while longer and eventually loses interest and I go pick it up. You can see the damage he has done to the ring but it still hold the sticks safely in place and I think it will last for many more months before I have to replace it. FINALLY, IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED after10 MONTHS.Update: 5/14/24: Just bought our 3rd one. This is an AWESOME PRODUCT!!!!!!!

Such a great idea, and works really well. But c'mon, I own a drill. Just let me buy the holder. It's expensive as is, having to buy it with bully sticks as well is obviously a way to increase the price. No dog toy lasts forever, and having to replace this thing a couple times a year at 40 bucks a pop is a bit much.As for the product itself, it's really great. My dog loves bully sticks and I love that they keep him busy, but he was swallowing the last couple inches whole, and they'd occasionally come back up at about 5am (which is definitely not the worst outcome we could have had). This is the most secure design I've seen. The design is really foolproof. As for durability, it's going well so far, but my dog will occasionally start chewing on the holder itself before I notice and correct it, and it's got a lot of teeth marks on it already. If you're not paying attention and your dog is a power chewer I can see how this thing could get destroyed in a short amount of time, which makes the price a bit more problematic.So in short, this is a really great design, but the durability is questionable and the way that it's being sold packaged with bully sticks in order to increase the price is downright irritating when this is something that'll need to be replaced now and then.

This is our second SafetyChew and I can’t speak enough about how much my dog loves it! The moment it comes out my dog goes crazy and it’s held up the test of time even though she’s a chewer. Unlike regular bully sticks from the pet stores, these are thicker and higher quality. My vet was even impressed knowing that the choking hazard often found with bully sticks is mediated with the use of the SafetyChew. The refill packs are super convenient and any dog will be a huge fan while also giving the owner the piece of mind your dog can safely have it!

This product didnt work at all

I received my Safety Chew Bully Stick Holder August 04, 2020. I was so excited to get it because up until then I wouldn't give our dog bully sticks for fear he may choke. We LOVED it and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. It securely held the sticks and I felt safe allowing him to have a bully stick without fear of him choking.Then last night it broke. I am writing this review on November 27, 2020. The Safety Chew bully stick holder only lasted 3 months, which is very disheartening. I think it needs to be made out of a stronger and sturdier rubber so it can hold up to strong chewers. It is inevitable that some chewing will occur on the rubber holder when your dog gets to the bottom of the bully stick. For reference purposes my guy is a 64lb, two year old Pit Mix.I am only giving it a 3 star because it didn't hold up...otherwise it would be a 5 star.**UPDATE** UPDATE** 12/02/2020I messaged the company about my issue and they were very quick to respond. They explained that they have recently moved to a new material for the Safety Chew ring. It is a bit harder and stronger. As I stated in my original review I do LOVE this product and the concept behind it. I am anxious to try out the new and improved version.
