Gets the job done
My son used this on sore muscles and before races sometimes until he put it upside down in his cup holder and couldn't get it out of the car. Now that the cup holder fiasco is over (they found a way) my husband is in charge of it and he uses it more for back pain. He seems to think it works a little bit (he has extreme back pain, so a little bit is pretty good!) The scent is never great on these CBD products, but this one is not super egregious. I haven't smelled anything funky coming off anyone, I only notice when I smell the jar directly. My daughter who is also an athlete used it and was nonplussed by it. I don't think we have enough numbers to say conclusively that it works for men and not women, but there you go.

May be the end of my search
And I'm not even using it with a brush! Look, I gave up foaming shaving creams for a reason. So I find this works perfectly, just hand applied.I'm using it with Schick Hydro 5 Sensitive. Cleans perfectly out of the blades. And wow, what a nice shave! The smell isn't what I hoped for, but not bad either, so no points docked there. Now, if I use it with some Viking beard pre shave oil that I bought at the same time- well I don't think my face was even that smooth when I was a baby. But again, it works awesomely on it's own for sure. Highly recommend

Great Product
I started using Art of Shaving Products many years ago and because they are very expensive I thought I would give these products a try. Well so far extremely happy provides a comparable shave. The trick is for the best shave ever is two things 1st shave in the shower!!!!! 2nd use the pre shave oil!! The shave butter does okay but to be honest I like it a little foam and cream like the art of saving shave cream but get ready to pay 4x the price. So for now enjoying the new shave

Smells great, feels great, does not clog up razor, lasts a long time
I got this product because I was using another brand of shaving butter that I liked, but its manufacturer stopped selling it. Previous to that, I used just regular Dr. Bronner's soap worked into a lather, but when I started using a 5-blade razor with that, my razor got clogged. For some reason I don't understand, using a shave butter with a 5-blade razor doesn't clog my razor. I looked on amazon for other shaving butters with ingredients that I could pronounce, and this one seemed to have non-objectionable ingredients. I shave about 3 times a week, and one jar lasts about 6 months. I spread it pretty thin. It smells and feels great. I'm about to buy my third jar. My first two jars were glass which I prefer, but it looks like they switched to plastic from the picture; plastic is not recyclable where I live. I'll live with the plastic if indeed the container is now plastic.

Great for the days I want to treat myself
I have the pre shave oil, butter and aftershave. All three are great and have a nice scent that I didn't expect to like. Not much of a lemony guy. But it's a great scent for a morning shave when I need to be alert but relaxed. If you are looking for something that lathers, this is NOT it. No lather. Just spread like butter and you're good to go. I'm bald so I tried it on my head...but I wouldn't recommend that. May be a personal preference but I just didn't care for how it felt on my head when shaving. But on the neck/face, feels like a luxurious shave.

Meh
I bought this looking for a more natural alternative to traditional shaving cream. I've used it twice and am on the fence. On the one hand, it has WAY better ingredients and in theory, is much better for your skin. On the other hand, it simply doesn't work as well as the cheap ones and I do not like the smell. After two uses, I've found that I need to use a considerable amount in order to get an acceptable lather. The product even admits that it doesn't foam like other shaving creams, so it was somewhat expected. But at the price for such a small jar, it's tough knowing how much I have to use. And even using two big scoops doesn't give the same lather as a traditional cream from a can. If you take longer than a few minutes to shave, it starts to either absorb into your skin or dry out, making you apply more or go faster. In the meantime, you need to deal with the smell, which is very strong and not my taste. If you can stomach the smell, price and apply enough while using a sharp razor, it's a sufficient replacement. I will probably look for something else but wouldn't refuse buying it again if there were no better options.
