Good idea, not so good parts, easy fix
I have read about the problems many people have had with the rods that hold the cover open. I have found a possible reason for the breakage. The rods are tied to the cover with ties sewn to the cover. These ties can come loose and not hold the rods in place, so when you open or close them the rods get in a bind and snap. I checked all my covers and found most had the ties undone. I re-tied them with a square knot instead of a bow. To replace broken rods i found a web site that sells rods that work perfectly. Goodwinds.com sells the rods, part #FSW187072. .187" X 72". Price as of6/21/21 was 3.95. These are a perfect fit when cut 58".I like the protection These provide and with modification and new rods, they should last a long time

These are good, if you repair the two deficiencies yourself
I have used these shrub covers for several years. I live in Alaska and grow rhododendrons. These evergreen shrubs need to be protected from the dry winds during our winters. These covers work and are easy to use and store during the summers. They do have two weaknesses. The flexible hoops are very brittle and easily broken. Actually, some of the ones I have ordered over the years arrived broken. I repair them with duct tape and tubing. This is frustrating and time consuming. The ties for securing them flat for storage are pathetically short. Having said this, I do continue to use them because I have not found anything better. I wish these two deficiencies were addressed and improved.

Switching all my plant covers to these!
Love, love, love these!Pros:Easy to install: It does require the use of a mallet or hammer to get the stakes in the ground, but even with my lack of upper-body strength I was able to do so easily.Appearance: All of my other plant covers look really sloppy, these look neat, clean, and orderly.Sturdiness: I've never had any of them blow away or get moved out of place. Also, because of the interior structure being self-supported, I don't get worried about snow piling up on it and crushing the plants. And lastly - they work! All plants have survived Michigan winters including the polar vortex winter a few years ago.The only con is that they seem to be limited in availability. There aren't many vendors that carry them, and those that do are always out of stock (and unable to order more). Amazon is literally the only place I've been able to buy them, and even then, the larger sizes seem to be in short supply.

These seem to be improved
If you are truly interested in an honest, experienced opinion, please read all the way through this review. I have used many different sizes of this product for years. I have also given honest blistering reviews regarding the quality of them. Specifically, the support rods were brittle and easily broken or even arrived broken. I repaired them with pvc pipe and layers of duct tape. Hours of work and additional expense. The ties which must be tied inside were pathetically short and cheap. One might wonder why I would continue to throw money at these. Because they work! With winter protection from the cold, dry winter winds where I live, my rhodendrons are thriving and blooming as they have done for many years using these repaired covers. The new, bigger size that I just purchased arrived intact and seem to be of improved quality. I don’t know how sturdy or durable they are, but I am hopeful. Perhaps someone paid attention to quality deficiencies.

Stakes Already Broke
I bought this to cover my Heather plants. I just put them up and 2 stakes broke while putting them in the ground, which is still relatively soft at the moment. So, I'll have to wait and see how the rest of it handles the winter. Hopefully I didn't make a mistake in my purchase. The plants were quite expensive.

Great bush protection
First purchased set more than a decade ago, bought this second set to replace one one previous sets which was damaged by severe snow accumulation. CAUTION…DO NOT ALLOW HEAVY SNOW (feet) Accumulation, cover material can take it but not the poles

Great concept but doesn't hold up in New England winters
I bought this to protect a Japanese Maple that had been damaged over the past several winters in New England. The product was straightforward to set up, but features plastic stakes, four of which have broken in half this winter. In addition, the reinforcers that hold the shape collapsed in heavy snow. If you live in light snow areas, this product is probably fine. But it wasn't built to protect plants in heavy snow areas.

Great winter protection for my boxwoods
They are sturdy and well made. They are easy to install over the bushes in the winter and take back off in the spring. I have 4 of them now. I have tried other options that are cheaper, but I now say that they are worth every penny.

Very high quality, easy to use and attractive also
I bought several of the small size and one medium size previously. I don't need them for the winter. I use them to sit over my flowering plants to protect the blossoms when heavy rain or thunderstorms are coming. They are light to pop over a large plant and take off to keep in the garage when the storm stops. Easy to store. The fabric lets in the light and air to the plant can breathe, and will allow some rain to get in without flooding and smashing up the blossoms. Advice: for the large size, measure around your plants to cover, because the large 54 x 52 is truly large! Fortunately I have a couple of beautiful, huge hostas to cover, so no more rips/holes in the leaves from heavy rain and winds. Get for summer use.

Easy to install
The product was easy to put together (had to tie outer mesh to the supporting ribs), and easy to install. The ground pegs are somewhat fragile and will break if hit too hard, or off center. Don't know yet whether they can stand up to the snow load where I live, but stay tuned.
