Dorfman Hat Co. Men's Weathered Cotton Big Brim with Mesh

I wore this hat all Hike Season for Make A Wish as a Trail Blazer.Hikes from 10, 12, 16, 20, 26.3 and 30.3 miles this Spring.Great sun protection, stylish and not too hot.Came through the hike season in good shape and ready for next year.

I have owned several of these (I'm on my third). I originally bought it for travel in SE Asia, and these have been good year-'round: I was surprised that they help in monsoon rain, even with the mesh around the crown. In hot weather they effectively absorb sweat across my forehead, transferring it to the brim to evaporate off while the ventilation above the brim keeps my head cool (it's rather like wearing a bandanna as a sweatband). The hat collapses easily for travel, the chin strap is effective in high wind, the brim is wide enough to provide an effective sun or rain shield. Once soaked, the hat does take a while to dry, but I find that acceptable. This is a practical travel hat for a wide range of conditions.

My husband wears this whether camping in the woods or fishing on the beach. Good ventilation and nice looking. He doesn’t use the draw cord( it is a bit stiff) so I took it off wrapped it around the brim and knotted with the wooden bead. Recommend

It's well ventilated and shades well, just wish was a little deeper.

I love this hat. The brim is perfect for shading the face and it travels well in a suitcase or backpack. The strap is a leather cord that runs around the top of hat then pokes down behind your ears. The leather cord is stiff but I looking for away to soften it up (the look of it goes with the hat). Once that gets soften up there nothing not to like.

This is not a crushable hat, yet it was shipped in a bag and obviously had packages thrown on top. This is my second hat like this, and the last one came in a box undamaged. Right now it’s sitting out in the Arizona sun to see if it regains it’s shape. If it doesn’t, it’s going back.

The hat overall is great, it’s just that if you have a balding head like mine, you can see it through this hat.

Fit. Right sizing. Soft with some give.

Love this hat. Sizing is perfect and the mesh allows full air flow and doesn't trap the heat in but still blocks the sun out. The quality of material and construction is very good so I am sure this will be my goto hat for a long time!

I have had 2 / have 1 Dorfman Pacific Hats, both from Beau Chapeau Niagara Falls, Canada and I really liked the DARK OLIVE one that I unfortunately lost. After that I bought the Sand and i was semi happy with it. I prefer dark colours for the woods and i recently Camo pattern coloured it with black sharpie and it looks great. However, it still isn't dark enough, as the base colour is sand.So then I found this DARK BROWN identical hat! The only difference is that it actually has a Wider Brim than the previous 2 and that is definitely welcome. It is also more comfortable and fits a tad bit looser than the other 2, which once again is extremely welcome. The other 2 were a bit head squeezing and when worn for long hours, was a it of an issue. This one is perfect.The only downside for me was that I had to pay shipping and import duties to Canada, but then again I did not get charged local taxes (maybe it's built into the duties ?). So i don't know if i benefited or not. I don't know how NAFTA works now, but things are screwed up. And unless i absolutely cannot get an item within Canada or without duties (which was the case), I will NOT buy it.So point made, this hat is worth it and I ain't gonna loose it this time around.

Fit, shape, weight, coverage and comfort are just what I was looking for. Really nice hat for garden work
