Seems to be working
I've been using this for a few months now. I waited until I felt I had enough experience with it to write this review it. Our household contains an adult male, an adult female, two female children, and two male children. The children range in age from 10 to almost two years old. All of the females have long hair. Previous to this product, I had to clean gunk and long hair out of the drain traps on at least a monthly basis. I never found a hair catcher that seemed to work. Since using this product, I have not cleaned the drains once, and there isn't any odor coming from the drains. In fact, that is one of the reasons there aren't five stars in this review. I expected a little bit of lemon scent. There isn't any odor, good or bad. The other reason I didn't give it five stars is that for a couple of the drains, it is impossible to fit the sticks into the pipe without crumbling them. As the age of the sticks increases, they become hard and brittle. I tried keeping the second package I opened in a Ziploc bag, but they still became hard and brittle. The bottom line is that they work well. I have put the Sani-Sticks in every drain trap in our house, kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, and workshop.

I was skeptical, but these stick really worked for us!
After complaining to an appliance company about odors from the drain when we did laundry, the service man explained we had one of the new ultra efficient, water saving machines. So, when it emptied down the drain, there wasn't enough volume to completely fill/rinse out the neck prior to the trap (that keeps odors from coming up out of the drain). There was water there, but plumbing to that trap had buildup. I was skeptical, but tried this product after his recommendation. It worked! Now, after a few washings, if we start to detect an odor we just drop a couple of sticks into the drain the washing machine empties into, and problem odor gone.

Doesn’t quite do the trick
One bathroom sink has a tendency to be odorific, so I wanted something easy to use to take away the smell without being full of chemicals. This isn’t it. The sticks get soft and sort of expand, which then causes them to take up more room in the drain, interrupting water flow. Also, they don’t actually mask the smell. I won’t buy them again.

Great item
I tried these drain sticks when they first came out I got from the dollar store. They worked great in all drians sinks, and tub. My my kitchen drain started smelling so I went looking for them around town and couldn't find any so I ordered them. I placed one down each drain in the kitchen and the next day I couldn't smell anything from the drain but a clean smell.

Tested: does not dissolve in standing water after 30 days.
Review of:Sani Sticks, As Seen on TV Drain Cleaner and Deodorizer, Lemon Scent - 48 PackI really wanted these to work. After reading reviews left by people who claimed these did not dissolve, and instead ended up plugging their drains, I did a decidedly unscientific test.I placed one of these is a glass of water for 30 days next to the kitchen sink.I poured out the water every once in a while, and filled up the glass again. If a sink isn't used daily, these should at least dissolve if left submerged in water in 30 days.I shouldn't have to run a constant stream of hot water on them for a month for them to dissolve.End result: after about a day, the stick became soft and flexible, like a thick pasta noodle. There was no appreciable change in appearance during the next 29 days. The other 47 sticks have since joined the "wet noodle" in the garbage.I suspect that, in people whose drains this "works" in (I cannot attest to the other "benefits" this product advertised), they have enough water flow that, after it softens up, the noodle possibly breaks apart and gets washed down the drain, and does not cause a blockage at the insertion site. This could occur within a few days of insertion. To be fair, the description never said that the sticks dissolve. But I think they should, because if they get caught in the trap (as advertised) they will simply build up over time.P.S. In the attached photo, the noodle was whole until I moved it with a knife to get a better picture, then it broke apart, it seems to be brittle. It never broke apart with periodic dumping and refilling the container with water.A side note to people who feel the need to leave reviews:A review is more than 3 words.Tell us why it works, or why it doesn't.Keep in mind that my application and needs may be different than yours.I might even want to use the product in the manner that the manufacturer intended. (Crazy, I know!)Also: Punctuation and spell check.

What can I say. The product works great. In our situation for a septic field.

Product should be able to last
The sticks are convenient but on trying to remove them, they break in pieces before we can even put them in the drain

They worked
They break too easily. They should be packaged differently

Work great. No more smelly drains.
I’ve used these for years and they work great to keep drains from smelling. I put one in every drain in the house and they last about a month.I don’t think these do much to clear a clogged drain. More drastic action is needed for that. But I do believe they help to keep them from clogging and smelling.I used to get them at the “ as seen on TV store “ in our local mall but they stopped carrying them. Glad Amazon has them.
