Stupid sel-watering idea
This is the dumbest idea since concrete toilet paper. It is not self watering- it’s “self flooding”. It does come with a shelf-like insert that sits inside about 3/4” from the bottom apparently to keep the soil and plant roots from sitting in water at the bottom and rotting, the problem is the pot comes with no holes in the bottom to aid the self-watering feature but there’s no way to tell when the water level is above the insert and making contact with the roots, therefore is just guess work and high hopes that you are pouring in the right amount of water at the right time, you could easily fill the pot to the brim and wouldn’t know it until it’s overflowing. It has spots marked on the bottom for drilling drain holes, but then it just becomes a regular planter, defeating the self-watering feature, really stupid idea. I have modified mine so that the water level automatically stays below the insert, but that’s for another show.

May crack in winter, otherwise a good planter
Got this and a few other planters for the start of the spring season this year. They come with a nice in-built reservoir for excess water, which helps with maintenance and ensuring plants don’t die when you’re out of town (where would I be in these days though?). Size is pretty good for plants that have outgrown 4-6 in planters and need both width and depth for continued growth. The black color is nice right now, however I feel it may fade over time. A quick spray paint tough up in future years should help. The only concern I have is in the shape of the material, and it’s thickness. It feels like it may crack over time and have a short life. Plan accordingly.

Not draining properly.
Having problem with these draining properly. Have never had an issue with cheap plastic pots with a combo of 80% potting soil and 20% garden soil. We have had heavy rains and the water sits on top as the soil is drenched and we have to tilt them over and pour off the water. Have brought them under the porch so we can control the water. At the ends of the season will try to drill holes in them.

Perfect to store candy for Halloween
This was a great alternative for a witches caldron to store our candy for Halloween! Every other option I saw was extremely overpriced for a smaller version. Now that Halloween is over, I plan on putting a plant in there for spring!

Good value for price
Pot seems to be made of durable plastic, the insert in the bottom is a nice feature. Overall good value for price.

Great for large plant
This is perfect for a large plant (on my balcony) and easy to move, but sturdy.

Holes are not punched in the bottom for drainage.
Need something electrical or pile driver to punch in holes. Impossible to do manually
