I bought this as a gift for my grandkids, a 3-year old and a 1-year old. The base is nice solid wood with soft corners and edges and the holes are soft to the touch. The pieces are beautifully made and painted and fit easily into their slots. The 3-year old and I had a lot of fun using the fishing rods to fish for the fish while the 1-year old could easily pick out the worms and grab the differently sized carrots and fit them back in the holes. We had a laugh naming the colors and fishing for like colored fish and picking worms or pretending to munch on the carrots we had picked with the picker. Great for fine motor skills, color matching and naming and shape fitting. The base isn’t too large and can easily be taken on a road trip or to a restaurant for hours of entertainment.

The product seems pretty well made. It is simple. My boys are 1.5 and 3.5 years old and both of them understand it. They love the challenge of finding which hole each ones goes to.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  My wife and I were looking for Montessori style of toys, specifically wooden in design, for our soon that was showing signs of sensory issues. Nowadays toys seems to be bright and loud electronics which is eye catching for kids, but it takes away the element to learn. When my son started playing with this toy, he would fish out the worms and fish and hand them to me. The look of accomplishment as he pulled out each one was priceless and felt like he was learning way more than any other toy. This toy was perfect for our just turned two year old. He’s starting to get better with pulling the carrots out with the pliers, but I feel that might be a slight older toy to use for like 2.5 to 3 year old to use.

I have a 2 year old and a 3 (almost 4) year old and they both LOVE this toy. It’s one where they can play alone or together (no fighting over it!) and they have so much fun. I was afraid they were too old to really enjoy it, but they both dived right in it.

My two year old loves this and has played with it every day. It’s easy to setup up. It’s a great toy to improve hand and eye coordination. It comes with a grabber tool to pick up the carrots and 2 fishing rods for the magnetic fish and worms. Excellent all in one toy. Colors are bright and puzzle pieces are wooden, so very sturdy.

Bought this for our two year old son who enjoys small short structured tasks. He loved it instantly! First using his hands to manipulate the objects in and out of the holes, then using the fishing pole to catch the fish! Grasping the carrots with the tweezers took a little more practice, which kept him engaged! Overall a very versatile puzzle toy that can grow with young toddlers! Good wooden quality for the price and great for working on fine motor skills, colors, and team work! I recommend supervised play since we are at the lower age range for the product. Best part no batteries required!

This is a great toy that will be usable for a long time! Younger toddlers enjoy taking the pieces in and out. As they get a little older they start to understand using the magnet. Then eventually they can use hand eye coordination to use the toy as intended. I can see this being used from ages 18 months to 5 years.
