Stanwood Needlecraft - Yarn Counter Meterage/Yardage Meter

This is a quality item that works wonderfully.

I have a bunch of yarn from house sales, exchanges, or old purchases where the skein tags got lost (or tossed). I also have a good bit of handspun and never had more than a rough estimate of what I'd need for a project. This has answered those questions. It may be tricky to use with bulky or uneven yarn, but it works. A bit on the pricey side, but it's made its way around our knitting group a few times, so for me, sharing added to its value. Well made, sturdy, and will give you answers with relative ease.

Was definitely counting yards when marked meters

It is easy to use, easy to store and the wood appears to be of good quality, correct price for the quality and performance.

I'm always impressed by how sturdy Stanwood products are. It's so rare! But, just like my yarn winder that's still going strong after a decade, this also feels like a quality piece of machinery.

Just needed a yarn meter. Did not expect to like it….but I love it….it just works. Best yarn meter - can handle single/multi- treads - novelty, fancy - just great……high speed, low speed.Love the roll back counting. Attached to a stool, I then move the stool to where the yarn is (loom, winder, swift)

I'm a little disappointed That this length counter was made in China but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It looked more like a handmade item and I was hoping it was made in the US. It's not as well-made as it looks and not totally accurate, either. However, it will do.

When I say "value for the money" it depends on what you want this for. I have had some plastic ones that are not accurate but I paid a lot less. They were worthless to me. But this one is accurate and I am able to use yarn without having to worry if I have enough to finish a project, so it is definitely worth the time I spend knitting, when I don't have to rip it out later because of insufficient yarn.

I bought this yarn counter as it looks good as well as being functional. I wanted it to measure my home spun yarn. I set it up next to my wool winder, about 2 feet away, and it works really well. I spin very fine yarn and was worried it would not have enough traction to work and noticed on some pictures the yarn was only put over the top of the wheel but I found it best to wind the yarn around the wheel once which was perfect and it turned and measured very smoothly. I am very pleased with it.

As a weaver I like to know the length of yarn I use. This tool has made my life a lot easier.

Easy to use and really well made. Makes measuring home-spun yarn a doddle. Love it!
