Decoration Only, Useless as Grinder
Very attractive decorative piece for you kitchen or curio display cabinet. Unless as a grinder. To save a a penny manufacturing cost per unit they designed the main shaft about 5/16" too short to catch enough thread on the cap nut to hold the handle in place. The cap nut flies off every turn if you try to grind something. They did at least machine flats and use a slot in the handle. You can't even install the handle without removing the seemingly useless lever that that appears to be there to engage a square toothed wheel that is already fixed in the main shaft. It would have to be bent more to engage the teeth any way. I wanted to actually use mine as a spice grinder so I took it to a machinist and paid $50 to have a new shaft of the proper length manufactured. He also saw absolutely no reason for the silly lever. Products of this type are manufactured with very lax dimensional tolerances and you may be lucky and get a shaft on the long end of the range their quality control allows (if they have any quality control at all). The woodwork and finish is excellent and the basic grinding mechanism okay for spices or a perk coffee ground that I prefer to a drip ground. If you are patient and have one that the handle pops off; set the top nut aside to keep it from falling into what you grinding, firmly hold the handle in place with one hand and rotate the whole grinder with your other hand. Make sure to use your thumb to keep the drawer from coming out.Or you can spend another $50 or so like me or you can use it as a display piece.

I like this grinder
I like this grinder, it is super cute, functional and vintage. I wasn't sure if it was possible to get coarse or fine grounds until i got it. Here is a link on how to change from coarse to fine ground. http://molmo.co.uk/instructions/ The reason for the 4 stars is that although it is cute and works, it is kinda hard to grind without feeling like you might eventually loosen the screws and maybe break the top grinding handle and such. And it could be that i am just not familiar with hand grinding coffee! But over all i really like it, it is perfect to make just the right amount of coffee for 1 person in the morning. :)

It works well and is aesthetically pleasing.
I did buy this. It is a working coffee grinder and looks great. I also have a electric grinder as those who have used one of these know it is a bit of work. The only complain I had is the little know on the small drawer that catches the coffee fell off but that was easily fixed with some wood glue.

Awesome little grinder
Awesome little grinder. Was a bit smaller than i had anticipated but I may have missed that in the description somewhere. It does take filling up the bowl once or twice with coffee to get the gears lubed up and really working their full potential. You also have to check the box about halfway through a bowl as it doesn't hold a whole bowls worth of grinded up stuff.

A very cute little item for your kitchen
A very cute little item for your kitchen. It takes a bit longer than I had expected to grind enough beans for a pod full of ground coffee. It takes about 5 minutes. Being of the kitchen electronics age, it just isn't fast enough for me.

The perfect amount of grounds to make one cup of coffee
I was skeptical at first that such a tiny hand cracked grinder would work at all.... but it did. The perfect amount of grounds to make one cup of coffee. It took a while to work the actually ceramic grinder in, it seems to be worth the $16 I paid for it. Hopefully it will last for a little while.

Good little grinder.
Was a little bummed that for all the talk about how their wood was better, the bottom of mine came off... I got it back together and it works fine. It's a grinder, not an art piece..

Perfect!
I ordered several of these for my family members this Christmas as gifts since we are all coffee fanatics, and I purchased this for my wife 2-3 years ago as well for Christmas. We have have had nothing but great ground coffee from these grinders and have had no issues! You won't be disappointed if you buy one and you can adjust the setting for the grind Style you want pending on what your using the coffee for...

A surprisingly beautiful and functional grinder :)
It is a very beautiful grinder. Colour of wood is amazing. It works very well, although one should not expect to have coffee grounded into powder. However, the time devoted to manual motion is a bonus. You feel the aroma of coffee surrounding you slowly and the pleasure begins long before you drink the actual cup. I gave 4 stars only because it would be convenient to have the possibility of grading the thickness of the final product. Otherwise it is perfect:)

Avoid!
On our very first use of the grinder, the pull handle on draw containing the ground beans fell off, so we had to pull the draw open from the sides - not ideal but workable.Using the grinder is defintely a workout, we were using this for an instant espresso machine. To get enough ground beans for a double espresso (finely ground) it would take around 3 minutes of grinding. Not what you want first thing in the morning. After trying to continue using the grinder today, after around 1 month of use, the bottom fell off completely!! very poorly made product.Seriously avoid this product and get an electric grinder!

Missing parts so a useless gift gone wrong
Ordered via prime as i needed it as a present. delivery was as expected but of no use as a present because the spacers were missing. Totally ruined the gift and id bought coffee beans to go with the present so it could be used immediately! And to top it off the coffee beans aren't eligible for returns so I now have a Β£7 useless gift that can't be used. Absolutely fuming right now

Efficient and easy.
Very easy to assemble and use. It was a bit smaller than I expected but that's probably my fault for not reading the description properly. The drawer is a bit small so you have to empty it into your coffee pot two or three times during the process. The little knob on the drawer flew off the first time I used it, so I have glued it into the hole. Otherwise, no problems and it looks nice sitting on my worktop.

At last can get fresh coffee! I did worry ...
At last can get fresh coffee! I did worry that it would be too small but after filling the bowl area to the brim with beans and ground them down, found more than enough for 2 cups of coffee depending on your coffee strength preference. If however you are looking for coffee for the large filters/machines you may want something bigger so you can increase the coffee strength.
