Recommended for cutting holes overhead for can lights. Take it slow.
I bought this to cut holes for 5" remodel can lights in a beadboard ceiling I put in to cover an acoustic tile ceiling. I also bought MK Morse M35PS Hole Saw Arbor 3/8-Inch Hex Boxed to fit it to my 18V cordless drill driver. It was very satisfactory. My buddy and I practiced cutting overhead once on a piece of sheetrock. I held the drill and guided, used the trigger, and he helped hold it steady by the battery pack. We were patient, and took it slow. I was glad to use the cordless drill, because sometimes the drill stalled out, when I am sure a corded drill would have come out of my hands. We cut six perfect holes and the tools worked perfectly. The hole saw is like a bowl, and the bottom is nearly solid. This is good because as you cut overhead (for can lights) much of your cuttings will be caught in the solid bottom.

One shot, one kill.
Since I only needed to drill one hole, I wanted to use a low cost saw. This saw, with theMK Morse M45P 7/16-Inch Arbor unit, was a better deal than I could find on the web, or in the big-box home stores. Once you get up into this larger size range, the blades & arbors are sold separately, for big bucks.I needed to drill a clean, neat 3.5" hole (exterior wall) into the vinyl siding, thru the foam insulation, old shingles, old fiber insulation and the 1/2" wood, for a 3" PVC sch40 pipe(3.5" OD).I figured going 1/8" larger than I needed would make installing the PVC easier. It was actually too easy. It was a little loose. I probably should have ordered the 3-1/2" saw.Anyways, this saw is very sharp. The hole in the vinyl siding is perfect. No chatter marks at all.As it passed each layer, I pulled it out and cleaned out the center, using a nailin the side slots (clean-out slots). Having used other brand hole saws before, when installing mini-splits, I was surprised at how quickly and cleanly this Morse AV58 cut.The threaded hole for assembling the saw blade and Arbor (MK Morse M45P 7/16-Inch Hole Saw Arbor) was perfect. When tightened up very snugly, the Arbor's pins were exactly alined with the holes. No wobbliness in this tool. The drill was an Hitachi FDV 16VB2 1/2".This is the perfect hole saw.. Too bad I only needed one hole! :(

Makes a beautifully round hole
I went to the big box stores locally and were just flabbergasted at how expensive hole saws were. After deciding that I would check on line, I was amazed at not only the price difference, but also the available variety on Amazon. By purchasing these on-line, I saved more than enough to buy another hole saw for another project. While I have not used these on anything harder than a cooler chest (plastic and insulation), I am sure that they would work great on wood or metal. The holes that were drilled out were quite smooth and perfectly round, so I can not complain. If I need further holes saws, I will absolutely purchase MK Morse, AND do so on Amazon!

Impressive performance -- but it does NOT come with an arbor
I was looking for a 120mm hole saw and found this 4.75" saw, which is just 1mm bigger. This is a rugged, well-built tool, and it's helpful that it's deep: you can cut a 1.5" deep hole with it.The only problem is that I didn't realize that it's just the saw -- it does NOT include the arbor. I admit that I later found the phrase "A separate arbor is required" in the manufacturer's description on Amazon, but darn it, that just isn't enough. The description fails to mention which arbor I should buy, but you'll find that elsewhere under "Frequently purchased together." Or you can search for the arbor with the description "MK Morse M45P".Since none of the four arbors I already had worked with the saw, I had to buy it online and wait another week for it to arrive. That extra week was the only reason I didn't give this thing 5 stars.Update (1 week later): I received the arbor that I needed (thanks for the quick service, Amazon) and finally used the saw. Its cutting power is awesome. I had to cut as deep as 1.25" and it cut smoothly, quickly, and without binding. Very impressive! (Look for my review on the arbor for instructions about using it with this hole saw.)

Outstanding bit.
I have a MK Morse hole saw kit and have used it for 14 years now, since we built our home, and it's been outstanding. I and needed a 2 1/8" so this is the first bit a looked for. It too works great. I will purchase MK Morse again over any other brand, even Milwaukee which would be my second choice (all my tools are Milwaukee which are excellent).
